The Tale Of A Toxic Workplace

Given that culture has been eating strategy for breakfast for many decades, one wonders why hasn't it burped yet?

We've been discussing toxic workplaces for ages, and it does not shock anymore. If you sit on the throne long enough, the odor stops bothering you. Everyone knows it exists, because they're breathing it each day.

So why does it persist?

Toxic work-culture often masquerades as cutting-edge excellence.

In reality, its systemic mediocrity gurgled to the top. Mouthwashed with polite diplomatic smiles, intellectual head nods, or rinsed with sincere-sounding mumb-jumbo. The shepherds of such toxicity are well guarded, block any insight into their minds, let alone hearts.Thought clarity or confirmation bias?

The opaque shepherd raises a blind farm, where the herd quietly coexists in contaminated ignorance and fatalistic resigned submission. What else can they do? Too many credit cards to pay,no?

If your shepherd isn't transparent, real and authentic, why expect the herd to be different? The herd fondly whips this facade into a more palatable fungi with diffrent layers of garnish.

Over time Tofu is the new Blue Cheese.

And so you have a fullly functional, toxic ecosystem where all seems well, until it isn't, with one person. Yes, that one.

They stand out.

The outlier.

The different guy.

The problem child.

The attrition candidate.

Time to cleanse, rinse, repeat. Ease the pain. Trim the fat. And there, you have a spanking new toxic workforce with those left behind.

When was the last time you witnessed an entire organization take the red pill?

Never is my guess. And so, what will it take?

Who is John Galt?
