A super-simple trick to ethically (and legally) plagiarize the news to blow up your open rates...
If you've ever sat down to write an email…
But struggle to place the pieces together to write something that you know will actually catch attention…
Then you're going to love this little slick trick I use in emails all the time, and…
It's so powerful that even the best A-List copywriters who work at the largest publishing companies use them to make themselves, and their clients millions.
And it's called "Newsjacking", or…
Put more simply, “Newsworthy” email copywriting.
Here's how you do it:
Find a story in the news that your audience either loves, or even hates…
Then use elements of that story in your subject line and email body copy…
Relate it to your product…
Then slip in a CTA.
That's it!
Now, the reason this works so well is because you're taking something that's already top of mind…
That no one else in your industry is probably talking about it yet (because they're too busy sending the same old boring offer-only emails)…
And it lets you immediately stand out in the inbox.
Give it a try…
I know you'll love the results.
Enjoy!
P.S. This is one of the many strategies I use when I write emails for my own list or even my clients. And, I also show (plus hand over exactly) how to do it yourself in my Command Attention in The Inbox Toolkit, which you can easily find in the featured section of my profile.
Grow predictably with B2B cold emails.

4moI've had one of my posts end up in LinkedIn news 😂, so they steal sh*t too... But a fair point. Definitely a tactic worth using. Technically - most of the largest 'creators' don't create their own content at all, all they do is copy news headlines and steal other high performing content. Just check any 'top 10' and you'll see that everything they post is already a topic another top creator covered that they just repost or rewrite slightly and slap their logo on it, or it's a trending twitter/instagram/facebook/tiktok video/post that they claim as their own work.
