My First Month At MDG

My First Month At MDG

It’s been an exciting month as I settle into my new position at my new agency. After spending almost 6 years working for the same agency, I’m surprised at how quickly I am adapting to this new environment. I have new clients, new co-workers, new bosses and new processes to wrap my head around. I feel like month one was a success and I look forward to continuing to “settle in” and add more value to my new team.

Here is a look at my first month with MDG:

From day one I was handed two accounts, both are in industries I’ve never worked within before. I love sports and fitness but it’s nice to gain experience in other industries and learn about different businesses and their consumers. One client is a builder and they have over 70 neighborhoods we are managing across the East Coast. The other client is a national PEO provider who works with companies to implement human resources and employee benefits. I am learning a lot about both industries and how people “shop” in those markets.

After only one week at the company, I was nominated to be 1 of 4 racers to take place in a go-kart competition against other agencies here in south Florida. Luckily, I have a need for speed and helped the boys take 3rd place. We even won a medal!

In this first month the company has hosted 2 Lunch & Learns. If you’ve ever read my previous articles you’ve heard me stress about how important employee development is, and it makes me so happy to be in a workplace where learning is engrained in the culture. One of the lessons was about Facebook Business Manager - which was a topic I am very familiar with.  The second lesson was about Google My Business, which is something I didn’t really work on at my previous agency, which was very interesting and something myself as a consumer, interacts with on a daily basis. Oh, and both times we ordered in Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza - score!

The people I’ve interacted with here at MDG are really smart and excited to teach people their skill(s). I was welcomed with opened arms and hit the ground running in a multitude of projects. I’ve continued to get involved in as much as possible and am excited to see what the future brings. More excitement to come ...
