How HARD times make the STRONG STRONGER and the Weak WEAKER

An observation by America’s Coach...

As a coach for over 28 years, I study and observe human behavior. I watch and investigate the ingredients people have who produce at the highest levels. In my book “Person of Interest” I wrote 10 years ago I postulated that “People of Interest” have seven ingredients and a “free prize.” One of the strongest ingredients a POI has is a HIGH PREY DRIVE and IMPECCABLE SKILLS. They also have SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE. They operate at high frequencies vs. low frequencies and always find a way to win.

Today, we are facing tough times. Economy problems. Division in our country. Businesses that are imploding. Politics that has become corrosive due to constant fighting. Fake media that sensationalizes and takes no responsibility for the facts. All of this creates FEAR and fear is an “unpleasant emotion created by a belief that someone or something is going to harm us in the future.”

But could FEAR be a good thing?

In my new book, coming out in 2021 called “Flip the Switch” I explain how FEAR could be the #1 activator of PREY DRIVE in the world if used correctly. But during this time I’ve observed a new trend. Big time people are actually “more motivated” in times of fear.

They strengthen their muscles.

They come to fight harder.

They exercise their creativity muscles more.

They push at a higher intensity.

The fear actually activates a DRIVE in them that no GOOD TIMES could ever produce. Hard times actually make the STRONG STRONGER and the WEAK WEAKER. There is a much greater divide between the SKILLED and the NON-SKILLED.

The weak, those who never worked the muscle, never produced anything, and never created real value for the world and rode off the coat-tails of others only get WEAKER.

Because they have not had the “long obedience in the same direction” their skill sets have not been refined, they have not struggled through adversity, and they cannot make it up fast enough to win in a tough situation.

They become fearful and afraid.

They become depressed.

They want to quit and give up.

They want someone else to do the hard work.

They expect the government to save them or companies to save them.

Hard times make the strong stronger because of this activation.

Now there is a new game to WIN and a new FIGHT to fight.

So, what happens in our new world?

I predict the rich will get richer. They will downsize people who don’t contribute and can’t fight through. They will re-invent new business models and open new divisions with other like mined top people. They will become tired and restless with the whiners and complainers and find new ways to “strategically partner” with other A players. They will creatively destroy their own businesses and re-build. Many will “outsource” this talent so the pool is so strong and global vs. localized. They will become intolerant of anyone who isn’t on board, puts up a fight, or wastes time and talent.

Their drive will come ALIVE if it had been mildly dormant due to good times.

This is true because it has always been true. When backed into a corner the top people in the world always come out fighting. The weak-minded always “tap out” which is why 1% continue to dominate all industries.

Now, if you have a general skill set, have not worked for years to build a valuable primary skill (I discuss in my book “Single Digit Millionaire), then you will be SCREWED during this cycle. You will become unemployed or even will go backward in your career “down the ladder of success” vs. “up the ladder of success.” You will go to lateral positions or even positions that are weaker than the ones you are in right now.

The bad news for the weak is this: you cannot work hard enough to make back up the lack of preparation. You can’t go back and start over. The only thing that will save you will have to be your attitude as your skill has become un-necessary now.

And those with bad attitudes will be downsized, right-sized, and freed up to chase their real passions. Only the strong will survive in hard times.

Which is exactly how it has always been...

In 2017 there were over 500,000 millionaires in the US alone. I predict those millionaires will become multi-millionaires during this cycle and the middle class of Americans will get destroyed financially. It will take years for them to recover or build any wealth at all because the jobs they will be working in will not offer any career advancement or excess cash to re-invest. It will become a vicious cycle.

Money doesn’t buy you freedom. Skills buy your freedom. This is why the STRONG get STRONGER. They are always in a refinement period. Diamonds are made during intense pressures. Diamonds will be made during this cycle. Trust me.

Better get to work building STRONG KIDS with DEEP SKILLS or they will never thrive in a modern and competitive world and never get to the other side.
