As I spent time in my small garden this weekend, I realized that leadership is a lot like gardening.  You plant seeds (ideas) and hope they will grow into something beautiful. You nurture the growth of your team members, providing them with the resources they need to flourish. And, just like pruning weeds, you eliminate inefficiencies and distractions that can hinder progress. But, just as you can't control the weather, you can't control all the circumstances that affect your team or organisation. You can only adapt and adjust, like a gardener adjusting to a sudden rainstorm or a surprise heatwave. Good gardeners also know when to let go, allowing their plants to grow and flourish on their own.  Similarly, good leaders know when to delegate and empower their team members to take ownership of their work. So, what's one way you can tend to your team or organisation like a gardener tends to their garden? __________________________________________________________ DM Yogesh Kabir for training on: #leadership #happiness #emotional intelligence #team building etc

Yogesh insights are spot on. To add to the post, my father was avid garder and he said to once that plants are like your own child and we should use our all sense to make them grow i.e touch smell and hear. He also said we should also talk to them as they are living beings. I am witness to the change we witnessed over the time in garden and same analogy applies to us

One way I tend to my team like a gardener is by taking the time to understand each person's unique strengths and needs, much like how a gardener knows which plants need more sunlight or water. By providing personalized support and encouragement, I help my team members thrive in their own way.

Checking in with each team member on a regular basis to learn about their individual needs and challenges is one method to take care of your group like a gardener. Each team member might need specialized assistance to flourish, much as different plants require different maintenance Yogesh Kabir

One aspect that resonates with me is the idea of adaptability—like a gardener adjusts to changing weather conditions, leaders must also adapt to unforeseen challenges and opportunities. Nicely put.Yogesh Kabir

Beautiful post Yogesh. Loved the comparison between a leader & gardener. Leadership is indeed about letting go of control and power and delegating it down the chain of command once you've nurtured people into making decision on their own.

Nurturing growth, eliminating obstacles, and knowing when to delegate are key aspects.

Love the analogy! Just like a gardener, effective leadership requires patience, nurturing, and the wisdom to let things grow on their own. It's about empowering your team to thrive while also knowing when to prune away the obstacles. What's your favorite aspect of tending to your team like a garden?
