Be thoughtful. Be kind. Help others where you can. Tips below 👇💞
Community Impact Manager at City Harvest London | Award Winning Photographer | Lived Experience Homelessness Advocate | Trying to understand and do something about poverty.
It’s getting so cold and dark out - and coming up to the run up to Christmas - want to know what you can buy / what you can do for many of those who experience homelessness? Get them a special Christmas present this year from this list and donate it to a local charity. Don’t have much money? No worries. Why not share it around your workplace, see if colleagues around might be willing to bring some of these items in - you could make it a big collaboration - between teams, or companies? Why not even compete for who can make the most rucksacks with useful items in? Print the list out. Share it with others. Post it. Repost it. Whatever helps. Together let’s make it a decent Christmas for someone less fortunate than ourselves. #christmasideas #stockingfillers #homelessness #corporatesocialresponsibility #helpingpeople #doinggood #xmasgifts #gifts

🤯 When a child has SEND, families very quickly need to acquire all kinds of specialist knowledge which can often seem confusing and stressful. 💡Did you know that there are dedicated organisations and charities that can support you as you navigate any SEND challenges? One example is the charity IPSEA which advises thousands of parents/carers each year. 😬Our latest blog offers some basic guidance from EHCP rights, to taking your concerns to tribunal. ✍️Whilst we explore some aspects of SEND law throughout the blog, each individual case should be explored independently with a legal professional of your choosing. 📖 We hope our blog can support you at what may be a tricky time. Supporting organizations that provide long-term solutions is more impactful than quick fixes. 🤔 Can I Actually Help the Homeless? Absolutely. Research local agencies helping the homeless. Volunteer your time, donate needed items, or support organizations like Homeless ID Project, which provides essential ID documents for accessing services, employment, and housing. 📝 Final Thoughts There are millions at risk of homelessness. Your help is needed. Find your niche and join the battle against homelessness. Whether you volunteer, donate, or advocate, your actions can make a significant impact. If you need to write your Will, and are considering a gift to charity, this guide will help. According to the Will Power national campaign, over 3M Canadians have now written a Will that includes family and charity. We’ve gotten a lot of questions about this lately, too. You can use your Will to make BIG change for things like creating a more inclusive society for people with intellectual disabilities without affecting the money you or your family will need.v Get started in 4 steps: https://ow.ly/zNpM50TKlcw #GivingBack# Willwriting #LarcheCanada #WillPower.ca Will Power Canada

Solicitor (Non Practising) Supports Tech Property Transport infrastructure (“TPTi”) Social Entrepreneurs ⭕️ Trustee & Honorary Treasurer Gresham Benevolent Fund E : [email protected] M: 077659 77318
Really good practical post from Andrew as always. Under the heading Practical Support : homelessness & biodiversity? I’m pleased to say that at Gresham Benevolent Fund we are supporting Crisis Changing Lives programme and personally I really like the fact that in the previous Parliament Crisis provided Secretariat services for the All Party Parliamentary Group on Homelessness. Hopefully it will do so again when the new Parliamentary term starts in early September. I was speaking with Connections at St Martins in the field. They said that the most requested items from their clients were mobile phones & laptops. These days once you have shelter; food ; medical support and the necessary IT skills you can with like mindeds set up your own Solo or Micro (1-11 employee) business or Social Enterprise with a mobile & access to a laptop and support from sympathetic Mentors like Andrew. There are 136,000 young (16-24 year old ) homeless that New Horizon are trying to help with a National Stratrgy plus an unknown number of hidden young underinvested. A real talent pool potentially. Update “ give a person a fish and they’ll eat for a day ; teach a person how to fish and they’ll eat for life”- ( which doesn’t really work these days when we poison our rivers and streams with effluent and the Midland Canals with a form of cyanide used in metal cleaning which kills the fishes🐟 !!) by giving the 136,000 phones and laptops and perhaps they could become our next generation of ….. ……Environmental Protectors.???!!! After all to be homeless in UK plc as Anthony says you have to be pretty streetwise. A task force of Name & Shame environmentalists protecting our “ Sceptrd Isle” might have a number of benefits. Whilst 32 wars rage around the globe causing massive environmental damage perhaps the Young Underinvested could be our eyes 👀 & ears 👂to ensure UK 🇬🇧 plc really does move towards Net Zero : not just “ wash ourselves in Green” After all .., “ there is no Planet 🌍 “B” T https://lnkd.in/eg33cJKh.

Judging from the last post, people want to know what to donate to people experiencing homelessness. So I made it into a basic pdf for you. Please download, enjoy, share, email out, whatever helps - anyone can donate, even if you don't have much money. It's just about thinking what people might need, and then adapting to it. Please do share it out, repost it out to your networks; would be amazing to have resources like this out there so people can be prepared the next time they encounter a rough sleeper. It could make their day. It might even save their lives. #homelessness #whattodonatetothehomeless #homelessnesshelp

A conversation could change a life. By reaching out, you might encourage a family member, friend, or colleague to open up. Even if they’re not in a crisis, asking 'R U OK?' can strengthen your bond and help you notice when they might need support. Starting a conversation involves 4 simple steps: 1. Ask 2. Listen 3. Encourage Action 4. Check in . . This is Merri Outreach Support Service. Proudly Melbourne. Proudly working together to end homelessness.
