Synoptic Data, a Public Benefit Corporation is excited to announce the release and availability of the NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration National Data Buoy Center (NDBC) network in the Synoptic Weather API and Viewer. This network consists of over 900 stations and 21 variables reporting various water and atmospheric variables. This valuable network helps to improve awareness and resilience both over open waters and for coastal communities. NDBC stations help not only to monitor weather and oceanic conditions but other hazards such as tsunamis. Learn more about the network at https://zurl.co/fMhm Explore the network at https://zurl.co/gccb #weatherobservations #buoyobservations #synopticdata #noaa #nationaldatabuoycenter

There are plenty of open data sources to analyse and visualize the trends in weather patterns. With our joint course with thriveGEO, we get data from various data providers (e.g. Copernicus ECMWF and NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration) and explore them in #QGIS: https://lnkd.in/eTWCSFS6

The NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration has issued a G4 geomagnetic storm watch – the first issued in 20 years >> https://hxgn.biz/3WB3htp While this makes it more likely to see an aurora light show at lower latitudes, it poses concerns for #GNSS-reliant operations like agriculture, marine hydrography and more. Increased solar activity causes rapid changes in the ionosphere that delay and disrupt GNSS signals. Learn how to take protective action against the effects of solar activity by building a more resilient positioning system >> https://hxgn.biz/47uYADC #IonosphericActivity #Scintillation #IonoActivity #SolarStorm #GeomagneticStorm

Weather effects ALL events!!! Even if you think your indoor event can’t be impacted, ask yourself how your patrons will arrive and exit safely!! Learning more about weather planning is a crucial and often overlooked step!! Find out how much you don’t know, and how your faith in your favorite radar app may be misplaced!
EVENT ADVISORY ISSUED FOR WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 11. ESA's Virtual Weather Planning for Mass Gatherings workshop is scheduled to arrive this Wednesday at 2:00 PM Eastern. Join us for this member-exclusive webinar series as we examine the science and impacts of severe weather on structures and crowds and break down how to develop an actionable severe weather plan. Get the details at https://lnkd.in/gSfPHc7M *Thanks to the NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration NWS for the image inspiration. #eventsafety #eventprofs #weatherplanning

Climavision processes about 1.5 billion weather observations daily. 📡 This data comes from a mix of sources, including their own radars, government agencies like NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration and the National Weather Service, and global partners in the WMO. In addition to public data, they've expanded their observational network through strategic partnerships, like with WindBorne Systems on the West Coast, using long-endurance balloons to gather data in underrepresented areas. 🌍 Listen or watch now using the link below! #weather #technology #entrepreneur #lexingtonky

Synoptic is working with NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration and National Weather Service (NWS) to ingest and deliver weather and environmental data for the National Mesonet Program (NMP). We provide data aggregation, quality control, and dissemination of both public and private observational data sets. One of the ways the NWS is using this information is on its Weather & Hazards Data Viewer. This tool allows the user to view various weather layers, such as radar, as well as observational data. Meteorologists or any weather enthusiast can view real-time information for their location. https://lnkd.in/d7_tcc3P #realtimeweather #weatherobservations #synopticdata #nws
