Synoptic Data, a Public Benefit Corporation is excited to announce the release and availability of the NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration National Data Buoy Center (NDBC) network in the Synoptic Weather API and Viewer. This network consists of over 900 stations and 21 variables reporting various water and atmospheric variables. This valuable network helps to improve awareness and resilience both over open waters and for coastal communities. NDBC stations help not only to monitor weather and oceanic conditions but other hazards such as tsunamis. We provide data aggregation, quality control, and dissemination of both public and private observational data sets. One of the ways the NWS is using this information is on its Weather & Hazards Data Viewer. This tool allows the user to view various weather layers, such as radar, as well as observational data.
