As a Therapist, I have come to appreciate the diverse cultural lenses through which menopause is viewed and navigated. It is fascinating how this biological milestone can be a prevalent topic in some cultures while remaining taboo in others. In my therapy sessions, discussions about menopause often shed light on the unique ways individuals experience and cope with this transition. These cultural variations play a significant role in shaping not only the symptoms women experience but also their coping mechanisms and the societal attitudes surrounding menopause. From openly discussing symptoms and seeking medical intervention to keeping silent and relying on traditional remedies, cultural norms greatly influence how women navigate this phase of life. However, amidst these cultural differences, one thing remains constant: Menopause is a universal experience that impacts women on both physical and emotional levels. By embracing and understanding the diversity of cultural perspectives on menopause, we can better tailor support and healthcare interventions to meet the unique needs of women worldwide.

June is "Pelvic Organ Prolapse" awareness month. 💡 I would like to share a few insights about the Pelvic Organ Prolapse(POP). 📢 I remember the lines that I heard in a conference- "If you live in a country where women have babies, you live in a country where there is a lot of POP"- These words say indirectly about the prevalence of POP and the need for awareness about the POP. 📌AWARENESS - Awareness & Preventive measures to be taught and Practised in the Antenatal period. 📌AVOID NEGLIGENCE - Many mothers have POP symptoms But very few were identified & received the appropriate Rehab. It's always an underreported condition. POP rehab to be given more importance equal to that of Incontinence. 📌 EARLY REHAB- Many women approach for POP treatment in Menopause or Post menopause. Identifying & providing rehab earlier helps to control the occurrence and the complications. Follow me to learn more of the unlearned aspects of Women's Health. 💐Dr.Jasmine Flora(PT), MPT(OBG) #Pelvic floor Physiotherapy#Pelvic organ Prolapse#Women's health

Sometimes it is simple as just asking your colleagues how they're feeling, other times it's about creating a workplace that ensures nobody gets left behind. There is no one size fits all solution, but understanding ways that work for your own organisations will help keep women connected to work. Have a look at some of our early findings and keep the conversation going.

Why are women turning to menopause doulas? The answer reveals both a gap in healthcare and an emerging solution. When 80% of medical residents aren't comfortable discussing menopause, when 10-minute appointments can't address complex symptoms, women are seeking more comprehensive support. As one woman told The Sunday Times, working with a doula is "like having a big sister" - someone who can provide both knowledge and understanding. At Midi Health, we believe in comprehensive care that combines medical expertise with practical support. The rise of menopause doulas shows us something important: women are actively seeking and creating the support systems they need. They're refusing to accept dismissal of their symptoms and instead building networks of care that work for them. The future of menopause care should combine the best of both worlds: expert medical treatment and holistic support. When we get this right, women will have access to all the resources they need to thrive through this transition.

Women's health is a critical topic that requires our attention. We explored the accessibility of menopause care in Canada for women between the ages of 40 to 60 years. With limited training opportunities available for family physicians and obstetrician gynecologists, we used registration with the Menopause Society as a proxy for expertise. Our findings reveal that there are only 124 clinicians with menopause expertise in Canada, including family physicians, obstetricians, and nurse practitioners. These clinicians are spread across the country with 26 in Calgary, 15 in Toronto, and 9 in Vancouver. This leaves many women wondering where to go for treatment. It’s time we start prioritizing women's health and investing in the education and training of healthcare professionals to provide better care for those experiencing menopause. www.pauz.health https://lnkd.in/eReuTCgu #PAUZHealth #WomensHealth #MenopauseCare #HealthcareAccessibility #CanadaHealthcare

Menopause isn’t just a women’s issue. It’s a human issue. And understanding it enough to prepare women who will live it ultimately benefits everyone. Medical research is so heavily dedicated to men, so even though every single woman will have to go through the complex and often-times frustrating process that is #menopause, there is only a small percentage (13%) of doctors who even know how to approach it. Research, awareness, and better education are key. Include women in clinical studies. Increase budgets for women’s health research. Give women the tools and knowledge they need to understand their menopausal years. #MenopauseAwarenessMonth #HalleBerry
