We’ve had enough of being told it’s “just a period”

Millions of women and girls suffer with severe period pain or heavy bleeding that disrupts their lives. They’re told it’s “just a period”.

This is unnecessary and unacceptable.

Treatment and support could help, but many women and girls don’t have access to them.

At Wellbeing of Women we’re here to change that.

Our "Just a Period” campaign has useful information and resources – giving you answers to your period questions, and showing you where to find help.

To launch our new “Just a Period” information hub, we’ve called on our brilliant ambassador Dr Nighat Arif to bust period myths and share her top tips.

Painful periods or heavy bleeding aren’t ‘just’ signs that you’re on.

These may be signs that you need medical advice, diagnosis, and treatment. You shouldn’t put up with periods that affect your life, whether it’s pain, bleeding or another symptom. Always see your doctor if you have any concerns.

Together, let’s put an end to periods that hold us back.

Join our campaign today.
