🌀 JOIN MY TEAM 🌀 (scroll to comments for opportunities) For the last 8 years as a graphic design freelancer, I’ve worked as 'Heather Knight Creative'. I’ve realised there’s only so much I can do on my own. I want to grow a collective of likeminded creatives, working in creative reciprocity with the earth. I have a dream to one day have a studio immersed IN nature, working FOR and WITH nature, where creativity and community can flourish. 🌼 As my vision for my business evolved, the name ‘Heather Knight Creative’ no longer felt like the right fit. I enlisted the expertise of brand strategist Kendra Futcher and copywriter Ally Elphick to find a name that felt right for my business. Collaborating on Miro, we created buckets of word themes, from nature’s cycles to collectives, earth’s rhythms to reciprocal relationships. We dived into worlds of ancient words and myths, and sliced and spliced new words into being. The final name, Arteri, came to me while I was cycling through Bristol. My brain overflowed with poetic metaphors that felt right for the studio. 💙 River arteries connect from source to sea to sky, flowing through all life. ❤️ The arteries of our body connect from our heart. Arteri symbolises the interconnection between our personal and planetary health. We believe in the power of stories to cultivate connection — to ourselves, each other, and nature — to shape a future where we can all thrive. Through our work, we aim to connect people to ways of being, living and working that regenerate our communities, landscapes and biodiversity. We embrace nature’s rhythms and principles to create the conditions for connection to deepen, creativity to flow, and collaboration to flourish. Arteri has been born with the power of collective in mind. The more streams that feed into a river artery, the stronger it gets. We need to move past individualism and into collective action. I'm both excited and a bit daunted by the journey of carving out a new category! A huge thanks to iDAC Expo for recognising Design Content Creation as a distinct award category. A special shoutout to Siddharth Saraf & Dhaval Thakur for this honour. This is my very first award in content creation, and it will always be a cherished milestone. Feeling the pressure, for sure! It's heartwarming to see the design community so engaged with my content... but, oh boy, it does bring on the butterflies! 😅 What began as a simple passion project on #Instagram has blossomed into something far greater and more impactful. Their response was fast, empathetic, and respectful — qualities that can be rare in today’s competitive job market. From speaking with others - and as I’m finding out myself - the time and effort that goes into applying for roles, tailoring each covering letter, and waiting anxiously for replies can be daunting. "Tell me how you got your first client." This has to be the question I get asked the most, 99% of the time. I'm going to finally go into detail about how I got my first client. It was via Behance, the website I always turned to for anything creative and collaborative projects. For those who don't know, Behance is the Instagram of the creative industry. It's a place where talented individuals connect with other professionals who share their passion and showcase their work. It all started when I made the decision to design ad campaign designs for Saurabh Bhatnagar. The real game-changer, though, was when I designed shampoo packaging and ads for Paradyes and they liked my designs and then I got HIRED! As I continued to upload interesting projects to this platform, my work started to get recognition. The Behance community valued the work I put into each project. And that's how my passion project, which I posted on Behance, led to my very first job. I never thought I would be standing here, and I was surprised by how differently the feeling of getting my first project hit me. These kinds of platforms aid in bridging the gap between clients and artists. PS: How did you land your first gig?
