Climate Week NYC is underway. What does it mean to design and scale impact solutions for our planet? The Snowball portfolio places equal focus on social equity and environmental sustainability; we share examples of some of the climate solutions below. Head to the links in our comments to learn more about how we back world changing innovation. 🐟 CEO who grew up in poverty builds rare $1.4 billion fish startup. A 33 year old biology graduate, Gibran Huzaifah, grew up near slums in Jakarta where he often slept rough and once did not eat for three days. He built a business - eFishery - which can increase farmer yields by up to 30 percent and double net profit, helping hundreds of millions of farmers globally while tackling the global challenge of food security. 📲 Rent your favourite tech so we reduce the resources we use together. The average life of a mobile phone is just 18 months. Old devices sit in drawers or end up in landfill. According to the United Nations, the world generates 50 million tonnes of electronic waste each year, and only 20 percent of that is recycled. Grover’s solution is to cut waste by making tech reuse affordable and attractive. And it’s rapidly made them Europe’s market leader in consumer tech subscriptions. ☀ Lighting up a brighter future. Renewable energy has huge social and environmental benefits – if we can make it reliable and affordable for all. Without electricity, many people rely on expensive, polluting, and harmful kerosene fuels and gas-powered generators to power and light their home. responsAbility Investments AG invests in companies, like SunKing - a global leader and pioneer delivering affordable solar-power. #ClimateWeekNYC #SDIM24 #Investing #WorldChangingReturns

increasing levels of air pollution based on historical data that have the potential to cause health risks and economic impacts. The purpose of this analysis is to understand air pollution trends in various regions and measure their impact on exposed populations. To answer this problem, the business solution offered includes analyzing historical air pollution trends with prediction methods such as RMSE and MAPE. Visualization in the form of simple graphs is used to facilitate understanding of pollution patterns, while diagrams are displayed to illustrate their impact on the population. The data analysis process is carried out through several stages, namely: Data Understanding: The data used consists of 1,290 rows and 32 columns, including information such as economic activity, type of pollution measurement, and time period. Data Preprocessing: This process involves checking for missing values (not found), removing outliers using the IQR method to make the data more accurate, and cleaning the data to ensure the quality of the analysis. Modeling: The prediction modeling process is carried out using the Double Exponential Smoothing method for Indonesia and Vietnam, while the ARIMA method is used for Thailand and Malaysia because it gives the smallest RMSE results. Based on the results of this analysis, the team provides several strategic recommendations to address air pollution, including: Regulating Emissions: Strictly regulate industrial emissions, vehicles, and biomass burning. Renewable Energy Incentives: Provide support for the use of clean energy such as solar panels and electric vehicles. High-Risk Area Priority: Install real-time air quality monitoring devices and raise awareness in areas with high pollution. Public Health Strategy: Provide health facilities specifically for respiratory diseases and educate the public on how to reduce exposure to pollution, such as wearing masks and greening the environment. A big thank you to my fantastic team Dikejar Deadline for all their hard work and collaboration. Also, don't forget to my mentor brother Daniel Lumban Gaol and my Faciliator brother Jasmine Azalia for guiding me to the final stage. HANOI DESIGN FOR HEALTH & WEALTH Tomorrow I'm talking to Hanoi, Vietnam. Request for circularity and consultancy. To be honest, I do complexity rather simple on the back of a beermat. Complexity is complex enough. But easy to explain when it comes to redesign of cities and rural areas. We just have to choose some priority projects and get going. Filling space. Filling time. Monetizing stranded assets. Health & Economy are central. Jobs in these upcoming economies are often B2C and industrial exploitation so far. So they have to decide what to STOP. Importing waste? Polluting industry? What is the most polluting one? Stop that one first and create an entrepreneurial ecosystem in that location. Attract foreign companies for consortium jobs. Older-fashioned also gives them the advantage of huge leaps in time. Often, Asian people are very entrepreneurial. Not as spoiled as many Europeans. That gives them the best advantage... Their active mindset and creativity. We lost that in many Europe countries... Sad but true. 💙🙏🏽 B2B bring in much better margins for a macro-economy. Creates many jobs. The environmental health projects with permaculture are B2B. Or B2G. Only B2C when we make community supported agriculture business models. When the consumer picks their own food. Or if the ecovillages are self-sustaining and do not sell at all... The restaurant chefs models are already B2B. The catering models too. Farming, ecosystem restoration in landscapes and seascapes, riverscapes, sponge cities, healthy buildings, is all B2B, and full of biomimicry tech innovations... So mostly I explain about short chains, climate resilient cities, and keeping the money in the Vietnamese system. I make analysis of dominant problems and business sectors. Just qualitative with interviews. And I design projects with solid partners for job creation. Involve Vietnamese universities. Make consortiums of EU and Vietnamese engineers so they can learn HOW to build the professional expertise... Consultancy is only ethical as education so they can do it themselves next time. I'm in big favour of sharing knowledge and building consortiums! Silos are not only sectors (best solutions are consortiums of different sectors) but also continents... Democratize education! ☺️🤸🏽♀️💥 And of course it starts with thorough interviews and a qualitative 0 measurement and some data analysis. A design of projects next. Then monitoring health results with the universities. No rocket science. But scientifically correct. Steps: 1 Design! 2 Matchmaking. 3 DO it as an entrepreneur... #systemsdesign #citysolutions
