It is July and for Seen Studios | B Corp Certified that means one thing... THE PARIS OLYMPICS 🔥 We are proud to be supporting a few of our partners with how they will be showing up over the games in the city, including Foot Locker EMEA, Nike, Zalando and Nike Jordan...with the first of the team heading out at the end of this week for installs 💪 Until I can share more on these, check out my morning fun facts list when it comes to how the games are shaping up to be circular and transparent: ⭕ The Olympic rings are made entirely of recycled French steel and measure a cool 95-foot-long and 49-foot-high. 🏕 95% of the games will take place in existing or temporary venues 💺 All seats in the Centre are made from recycled local plastic waste ☀ The Athlete's Village will be powered with geothermal and solar energy 🌿 There will be double the amount of plant-based food served at the event than previous years ♻ 100% renewable energy will be used throughout the games Paris 2024 says its Olympic Games will be the greenest in the event's history, and with 15 million visitors to the French capital (and an estimated one billion people watching the competitions live on TV), this is no mean feat! Did the marketing backfire? Sponsoring an event is more than paying and activating; it’s about understanding the match, listening to channels, and executing perfectly. When involving the brand’s own product, extra care is crucial. For instance, if it's Burger King, the sandwich must be delicious. If it's Volvo Cars, the transport experience must be unique. If it's Azul Airlines, the trip must be punctual. For the Paris Olympics, Riachuelo is responsible for the delegation’s uniform, marketed as Fast Fashion, which failed to impress and drew heavy criticism. Similarly, the CBAt kit with the Puma logo received backlash after an athlete criticized the treatment at the competition. Negative feedback on quality will linger, harming involved brands and potentially affecting even those performing well, like Havaianas. As someone with 2 professional athletes at home, I know that impactful kits can be more thrilling than trophies, and brands should invest significantly to make an impact. In front of the eyes of an international audience of journalists and influencers, we unveiled our new Brand ID. Kudos to Olivier, our countries, and the Edelman team for this achievement. (Warning: video may affect photosensitive viewers) Since my comment on the ad post was apparently deleted, I figured I’d repost to clarify that my observation that the video seemed seizure-inducing wasn’t a joke. As a software tester, I was using a heuristic that if the rapid scene changes were jarring to me as a neurotypical (that I know of) user, it could be a legitimate problem for others. Looking it up, it does appear the video violates the W3C’s accessibility guidelines: https://lnkd.in/g9xJQwCn I’m disappointed that Irene Merino or Decathlon didn’t at least try to understand my concern before deleting my comment. Particularly given the ad references DEI, I would hope that they’re considering neurodiversity in addition to other dimensions of diversity. Simply changing or not using an ad that could physically hurt some viewers would be an easy step to take.
