Be Proactive and Take Initiative Taking on responsibilities before they’re assigned to you is a powerful way to advance in your career. I’ve always taken on more than what was required for my position. Whenever I’ve been given a role or responsibility, I’ve made it a point to excel and prove my worth in the first year. By the second year, I would start thinking about what’s next—what more I could do to continue growing. This mindset has been key in shaping my career. For example, when I was an Assistant Manager of Sales for the Mumbai Branch and had performed well, I approached my manager about exploring opportunities with clients in Vadodara. Given my success in Mumbai, convincing my manager wasn’t difficult. Once I started visiting Vadodara regularly, I also took the initiative to visit other key cities like Ahmedabad, Surat, and Bharuch in the Western Region. By the third year, the management had no choice but to promote me to Manager of Sales for the Western Region. This also gave me the opportunity to expand into Pune. If I had limited myself to thinking, "I’m an Assistant Manager for Mumbai, and my job is only here," I wouldn’t have grown as quickly. This proactive approach has been a constant throughout my career. I always encourage others to think beyond their current role and take on additional responsibilities. Ask yourself: Do you want the management to decide the pace of your growth, or do you want to take control of it? While I’m not sure how today’s generation views this approach, it’s been a tried-and-tested strategy that has worked for me. I encourage you to give it a try. Let me know your thoughts on this, and feel free to share with friends and colleagues if you agree. #PROLOGINDIA #MakeYourNextBigMove Prolog India Private Limited

2moI am in 100% agreement with you. The co-efficient of correlation between job title and responsibilities on a scale of 0 to 1 is more than 0.5 when we are at junior roles but the same reduces to below 0.5 as we enter leadership roles.
