How do you celebrate your wins? When I worked at Indeed a few colleagues and I would share our wins every Friday. It was a great way to reflect on the positive moments. Stress can easily get in the way of clouding our thoughts and not letting us see all of the light around us. Every week there are ups and downs in our careers: clients that are challenging, a manager who is demanding, a presentation that seems daunting to finish, goals that seem impossible to achieve. You have to take a moment to reflect and see that every week you're slowly chipping away at what you want. Despite the noise. What were you wins this week?

Do you celebrate your wins? I encourage you to. Sarah and I have a tradition – we celebrate our wins – from small milestones to bigger achievements. Here’s why this is such a wonderful thing to do, that you'll never regret... So often, the year feels like a 12-month cycle of goal achievement. We set goals, work hard, monitor progress, get to the last quarter, start stressing, and end up with a result at the end. Do we celebrate or sulk? That feels like way too much pressure to me, and it doesn’t give credit to all the good things that happen along the way. It’s also gives to much power to arbitrary goals. We love what we do. We’re committed it all for the long haul. Every milestone, every win, every step of progress – it’s all something to celebrate. What good thing happened recently? Great! It's a win. Go have a nice dinner to celebrate. You’ll be so glad you did.

I make it a point to celebrate my wins, no matter how small. Why? Because it gives me the evidence I need on the rougher days to keep going, particularly on the days when I feel like I've been doing so much but have nothing to show for it. Looking for evidence of my past achievements, even small wins, helps to affirm that I'm moving in the right direction. It gives me that much-needed boost of confidence and reinforces the positive self-belief that I can do this! Success leaves clues. The thing is that when we recognise the evidence of progress, it creates a snowball effect. There are no overnight successes, we just haven't been exposed to the journey that got overnight successors there. Keep building that momentum. Every little step counts, no matter how small.

Celebrating Your Wins By celebrating small wins, you gain skills such as maintaining focus, goal settings, prioritizing and organizing which can lead to greater self-confidence. It’s always a good time to practice gratitude as you are never too old to celebrate small victories. The great victory which appears so simple today was the result of a series of small victories that were unnoticed. Celebrating your wins allows you to pause and reflect on the progress you’ve made and the obstacles you’ve overcome. Take a deep breath and let yourself feel relieved and excited then set your intentions for what’s next. Remember “ Winners never quit and quitters never win” — Vince Lombardi
