There is a feeling that in defence, the private sector will break boundaries, evenly competing with government entities & DPSUs if they have true vision for doing great things and invest in R&D in tech. Overall, in 2-3 years, India has to find ways to crack some elusive and advanced tech, raise production capacity and design & build platforms and systems and indigenous equipment faster. Exactly the way IAF chief points out that while Hindustan Aeronautics Limited doing their bit, there will be no aerospace revolution without the equally capable private sector competing and building jets, helicopters and engines. Land forces are spreading(look at ATAGS) and the navy is already building strategic assets with the pvt sector. Truly exciting that the new Defence Secretary of India with his deeper understanding of industrial systems and key tech will drive policies that will help India break barriers and lead into advanced military technologies. And I will continue raising issues of national importance, of technology of capabilities towards national security. #defencesecretary #defence #aerospace #technology #army #iaf #navy #secretary #leadership #industry #makeinindia

🌟 Istari Digital has received a $15-million contract to support the United States Air Force’s Model One program. Led by innovation arm AFWERX, Model One seeks to produce “digital twin” technology that stores and manufactures replicas of physical objects as well as their corresponding features in a virtual environment. “Digital transformation is rapidly accelerating industries, from medical devices to monohull racing boats,” Istari Digital President Dr. Will Roper explained. But the challenges of disparate intellectual property and classified data have made it difficult for Defense to follow in their wakes.” #military #army #defense #defence #defenseindustry #defenceindustry #defensetech #defencetech #militarytech #technology #innovation #usairforce

I wouldn’t have done this if not for Amy Jean Swanson ! Since she convinced me to do this challenge with NSIN - National Security Innovation Network & U.S. Army DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory I actually got paid for buckling down and coding last summer while looking for a job (sure beats leetcode). The technical constraints made this project especially interesting. Why did we choose a Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) classifier? Why not a Deep Neural Network (DNN)? The Army Research Lab (ARL) needed a solution that fits the compute and memory constraints of a Cortex-M4 MCU with 1MB of ROM and 256kB of RAM—getting a DNN in there is HARD! Not only that, but our dataset was extremely limited, far from sufficient to feed data-hungry DNNs. By extracting a feature matrix “manually” from the acoustic and seismic signals using spectral centroids of the STFT, and using a statistical model (the GMM) for prediction, the FLOPs required drops dramatically, and the memory requirement is reduced by several orders of magnitude. DNNs perform incredibly well, but you don’t always have a GPGPU and GBs of RAM handy! #TinyML researchers might have something to say about that…

#radar #science #engineering Made a mini radar to identify the object or obstacles which enter into our parameter. Basically these are used in the aircraft and in military force to identify the entering of the enemies. The minion is always ultimate 😜

"Militaries in this region require geospatial tech to gain a competitive advantage over their adversaries." One of the key areas as echoed by Lt. Gen Rakesh Kapoor, Deputy Chief of the Army Staff (Information Systems and Coordination). Glad to meet him. #IndoPacific is indeed a theatre of rivalries. As we see space as the new frontier there must be a robust mechanism for monitoring everything. In comparison within services, the Army took it upon in sheer force to bring about radical international standards in autonomous areas in a shorter time. The Indian army has done some pivotal work in information systems which must be geared towards a next-gen smart army. I regard such projects: Network for Spectrum (NFS) project; and Artillery Combat Command and Control System (ACCCS) by #indianarmy as transformative in terms of tech absorption. NFS has provided reasonable bandwidth to the defence forces including Indian Army (IA) which are being utilised for fast processing of data, creation of data centres for multiple purposes & build redundancies. The concept of edge computing will further facilitate the warfighting in a more effective manner. Further the Battlefield Surveillance System (BSS) known as Project SANJAY puts it as top- notch in network centric areas. I will soon bring forth the futuristic elements of military transformation and how Industry responds and ready for this, especially in indigenization efforts along with best of military tech from the world-- from friendly countries. #army #warfare #technology #artillery Indian Army U.S. Indo-Pacific Command #defence #aerospace #geospacial #drones #innovation #military #modernization Centre For Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS) United Service Institution of India

Mr. Mark Mitcham, Ecosystem Integrator for the Future Vertical Lift-Cross Functional Team participated in a panel during the U.S. Army Network Technical Exchange Meeting (TEM) 12 in Philadelphia, Pa. The network is the Army’s number one transformation priority. TEM 12 provided an opportunity for Industry and Army Network Stakeholders to have a technical and operational discussion on all things Network related. Mitcham specifically spoke about the #FVLCFT effort to help with range extension and tactical networking requirements as they apply to the Aerial Tier Network Extension (ATNE). #FVLCFT is working the requirements through persistent experimentation and operational exercise integration in several Indo-Pacific opportunities. “The experimentation and demonstration of aerial tier communications capabilities with operational units has clearly shown both the improvement to the performance, reliability, and resiliency that it adds to the tactical network and the need to expand the battlefield geometry of communications into the aerial tier. The units have identified this as a game changer for their ability to communicate and significantly improve their ability to see a common operational picture of the battle space.” #DeliverArmy2030 #DesignArmy2040 #NetworkCFT #TEM12 U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command I PEO Aviation I U.S. Army DEVCOM Aviation & Missile Center I U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence I Army Futures Command I PEO C3T I U.S. Army DEVCOM C5ISR Center I US Army

India’s indigenous light tank _________________________ India’s Indigenous light tank ‘Zorawar’ unveiled. Fastest product development by DRDO, Larsen & Toubro. As per the DRDO chief, the tank is expected to be inducted into the Indian Army by the year 2027 after all trials. This tank will be effective in suppressing key enemy elements, especially those that require a swift response. When opto-electronic suppression systems are installed, Zorawar will be able to disrupt the operation of ATGM's guidance systems. Across several types of terrain the presence of such a vehicle significantly increases the overall firepower of a unit or formation and makes it possible to more efficiently perform assigned tasks. It's mobility is comparable to several amphibious assault vehicle. #army #military #tanks #technology #innovation #vehicle #electronic
