Today, I came across a new visual design trend that, at first glance, gave me the impression it was from a design-related video, maybe something from Figma or a design podcast. The visuals felt very much in line with the aesthetic typically used in design content. However, when I looked at the channel name, I realized it was an Indian news channel, which I found quite amusing. It was surprising to see a news channel using visuals that didn’t align with their brand or identity. This could be confusing for some viewers, as it shows how our mental models associate certain visuals with specific types of content. What’s ur thoughts on this? 🧐 #design #branding #designtrend

🎙️5 Lessons from a Storytelling Expert! 💡 1. Drop the adjectives – Let the Imagination Flow Instead of adding tons of adjectives, just focus on sharing what you felt and experienced. When you leave out excessive details, your audience can resonate easier & create their own version of the story, making it feel more personal. Plus, it’s a great way to engage their imagination without overloading their mental bandwidth. 🤝 2. The Lost Art of Real Conversation Being able to hold a 10 minutes one-on-one conversation with someone from any background is a rare skill in today’s digital world. This authenticity and openness to connect directly can be a real competitive advantage, especially with so much communication happening online. 📊 3. Turn Product Demos into Real Stories Instead of explaining every feature in a product demo, tell a story. Talk about how Company X faced specific challenges and how the platform solved them. It’s a memorable, relatable approach that holds far more impact than a dry breakdown of features. 🫂 4. Remember, the Audience is on Your Side Your audience wants you to succeed as much as you do - insecurity will make them feel awkward. A quick joke or lighthearted comment at the start can ease the tension, making everyone feel relaxed and open. When they’re at ease, they’re more likely to connect, support, and genuinely enjoy your talk. 🎨 5. Keep Visuals Simple for a Stronger Connection Just like in comics, where a simple circle with two dots and a smile lets readers fill in the rest, basic storytelling visuals allow people to connect on their own terms. By not overdoing it, you invite your audience to complete the picture in a way that feels personal and genuine. Crafting Compelling Narratives: Tips for Building a Captivating Story Arc Every great story is built upon a solid foundation—plot twists, character development, and emotional resonance. Here are some tips to help you master the art of crafting a captivating story arc: Embrace the Three-Act Structure: The three-act structure—Setup, Confrontation, and Resolution—serves as a timeless blueprint for storytelling. Start by setting the scene, introducing the characters and creating conflict (Setup). Then, add tension and drama as the characters face challenges (Confrontation). Finally, bring the story to a satisfying conclusion (Resolution). Use the 5 Ws to your advantage: The 5 Ws—Who, What, Where, When, and Why—are the building blocks of any narrative. Get to the heart of your characters' motivations, explore the intricacies of their relationships, and paint a vivid picture of the world they inhabit. Address these fundamental questions and create a rich and immersive storytelling experience that will resonate with readers on a profound level. Infuse Tension into the Middle Section: The middle section of your story is where the magic happens. It's where tension simmers, conflicts arise, and stakes are raised. Introduce obstacles and challenges that test the resolve of your characters, pushing them to their limits and driving the narrative forward. Maintain a delicate balance of tension and release to keep readers on the edge of their seats, eager to uncover what happens next. Elevate Emotional Depth: Tension alone is not enough to sustain interest. It must be accompanied by emotional ups and downs that resonate with readers on a visceral level. Explore the inner turmoil of your characters, delve into their hopes, fears, and dreams, and allow readers to empathise with their struggles. By infusing your story with raw, authentic emotion, you can create a powerful connection that transcends the page, leaving a lasting impact on your audience. In conclusion, building a compelling story arc is a delicate balance of structure, tension, and emotional resonance. By following these tips and embracing the fundamental principles of storytelling, you can create narratives that captivate, inspire, and endure for generations to come. What are your favourite techniques for crafting a captivating story arc? Share your insights and join the conversation! #Storytelling #WritingTips #ThreeActStructure #EmotionalResonance
