With Google finally adding negative keyword exclusions and Impression Share reporting to #PMax, it got me thinking what do I want to see come to PMax? - Downloadable Asset Group reporting: the current workaround of screenshotting and then using a #LLM to create a table isn't ideal. - Better Search Term reporting: Using scripts to find out what search terms are triggering the PMax ads is something I can see being streamlined. - Network reporting: It'd be great to see breakdowns of exactly where PMax is spending its budget, whether that's on #Discovery, #Search, #Display etc. It is great to see how far we've progressed since PMax's early days in 2021 and I am excited to see what the next steps are. Spotted the location bid adjustment in PMax? Here’s the twist: We can’t actually bid on locations in PMax. Even if you try to increase the bids, it won’t make any difference. It’s a feature that seems adjustable but doesn’t influence the campaign as you might hope. Personally, I’ve found that understanding these nuances helps me stay focused on strategies that truly impact performance, saving time and effort on adjustments that don’t move the needle. A safe estimate for Google PMAX campaigns is an incremental ROAS that is 1/3rd of the platform reported number. Until you have that ability to test it yourself, I would use that number.

PMAX’s SIS metric can benefit you TODAY. Here’s How… This is going to be a great way to gauge diminishing returns It’s very common to see that Shopping and Search placements perform the best in PMAX and often get shown the most—until you scale your budget too far. Then Google will start to increase your visibility on DSP and Video networks. This is typically when performance begins to decrease slightly. That being said if your PMAX campaign is prioritizing spend to search and shopping and your impression share is low, this is a great sign that you can keep scaling the campaign without sacrificing spend being allocated to less effective placements. Once you approach 100% SIS, you can be more confident that you are approaching the point of diminishing returns in your ROAS and spend relationship. Hope this helps :)
