There are so many interesting discussions happening at London Tech Week. One founder, CEO, and investor discussion that has kept me thinking is "The Nuts and Bolts of Building Your Own Business" with panelists Gerard Grech, Tom Bohills, Chris Woodward-Jones and Galia Beer-Gabel. Here are some of the insights gained: 💡 The importance of engaging a coach early to help the founder “let go” of aspects of the business in preparation for scaling. 💡 The chances of success and survival are greater if you have a co-founder, and the benefits that come with having a co-pilot to digest and strategize your journey. 💡 Ensure that you are intentional and take the time to define your values as a founder. 💡 Recognise what you are and aren’t good at early on; find processes and people to fill the gaps. You can’t be everyone and everything all of the time. 💡Consider trademarking your business. 💡 It’s okay to be vulnerable - in fact, it’s really helpful, especially when leveraging the expertise of your board and advisors; it makes your product better. 💡 Recognise that you are one of many investments for your investors - use their time wisely. 💡 The growing pains of trusting the people you hire to do the building for you. 💡 Advocacy being a key marker of product-market fit. 💡 Choosing investors for your business that are compatible with you, beyond the funding that they offer. 💡 Key considerations in PMF - deciding to either swim in ‘red waters’ (i.e., bloody waters) where products are already available and your mission is to make your offering better, or go into entirely new markets. So much food for thought. Thank you, panelists. Founders and CEOs, do these points resonate with you? Any other insights to add from your experience? #people #culture #startup #scaleup #coaching #LTW2024

What a fantastic breakfast meeting hosted by Nordic Angels and BCG! 🙌 A big thank you for creating such an inspiring and thought-provoking morning at your offices, and for releasing the report that shines a light on the critical role angel investors play in Europe’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. The discussions around the report were incredibly impactful, especially the emphasis on how startups need more than just funding—they need advice, coaching, and strategic guidance to navigate the challenges of scaling. The importance of aligning funding plans with long-term goals and bringing the right investors on board was a central theme, sparking meaningful conversations about how to create a well-functioning ecosystem that empowers both entrepreneurs and angels. It’s inspiring to see Nordic Angels leading these discussions and providing a platform to address these key questions. Events like this play a vital role in strengthening the ecosystem and fostering collaboration to support growth and innovation in Europe. 🌟 Thank you for a great start to the day and for the important work you’re doing to elevate these conversations! 👏✨ #NordicAngels #AngelInvesting #Entrepreneurship #Innovation #GrowthJourney #Ecosystem Nordic Angels Boston Consulting Group (BCG) Scalex Growth Partners

Grateful & Empowered 💎 Yesterday, I had the privilege of moderating an incredible panel titled "From Idea to Impact: Navigating the Entrepreneurial Landscape" at the #NasirGiwaMentorshipConference3.0, featuring some truly inspiring minds-a venture capitalist, CEOs, and a co-founder. Idris Ayodeji Bello Yemi Afariogun MNIA PMP Mustapha Suberu Abdulrahman Jogbojogbo We explored everything from validating your idea and following your passion to funding, finding investors, and the importance of networking and mentorship. It was a deeply engaging conversation that resonated with so many in the room. One attendee said something that really stuck with me: "The way you steered the conversation, I can start a business right now because you asked the speakers the right questions, like you knew the right questions for the right people. Moments like this remind me why I love creating spaces for authentic dialogue and learning. I left the room inspired by the energy and enthusiasm of the audience, and I'm so excited for the ideas and ventures that will bloom from these conversations! A big thank you to the NGM Platform Nasir Giwa for giving me the opportunity and platform to lead this impactful discussion. And a special thank you to everyone who joined us and to the incredible speakers for sharing their wisdom. Let's keep pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve!🤩 #NasirGiwaMentorshipConference #FromldeaTolmpact #Entrepreneurship #EmpoweredConversations #BusinessGrowth #Networking #Mentorship#paneldiscussion

🌟 Thank You for Joining the Strive and Thrive Challenge! 🌟 Last few days have been crazy and could not give a detailed update on the Challenge earlier. Nevertheless, I am back here now. Last Saturday, we had our first ever Strive and Thrive Challenge and it was nothing short of inspiring! A heartfelt thank you to all those who attended. Your energy, curiosity, and commitment to growth truly made the session impactful. 🙌 During our 2 hours together, we explored practical strategies to take your business to new heights, and the engagement was phenomenal. These are some of the areas that generated the most curiosity: 🔑 Building a Growth Mindset: We kicked things off by discussing how clarity in vision and actionable goals are the foundation for long-term success. 🤝 The Power of Networking and Partnerships: Many of you asked about finding the right partners and collaborators. We delved into strategies to build meaningful relationships that drive mutual growth. 💡 Attracting Investors' Attention: A recurring theme in your questions was how to stand out to investors. We covered what investors are really looking for—clear value propositions, solid financials, and the “X-factor” in your pitch. 🚀 Positioning for Success: We also touched on the importance of knowing your customer well, building trust, and creating visibility in competitive markets. The deep and thoughtful questions you posed were a testament to your commitment to making bold strides. Questions like: 👉 "How do I approach potential business partners who align with my values?" 👉 "What’s the best way to demonstrate my business’s potential to investors?" These are precisely the conversations that lead to breakthroughs, and I’m thrilled to have had the chance to address them. Next Steps: This is just the beginning! For those ready to implement these insights, my inbox is always open. Let’s keep the momentum going. 🌟 Once again, thank you for your active participation and for making this event a success. Here’s to striving, thriving, and achieving new heights together! 🚀 #BusinessGrowth #Networking #Entrepreneurship #BuildingBusinesses #StriveAndThriveChallenge
