High Liner grows Q1 earnings despite 13% drop in sales volume Canada's High Liner Foods reported a 13% drop in first-quarter sales volume to 67 million pounds (30,391 metric tons), yet managed to increase its adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA). Luneburg, Nova Scotia-based High Liner, which generates around two-thirds of its revenue from the US market, saw its Q1 sales value drop 16% to $277m due to the volume decline. I don't find it hard talking about the cost of a project at all.., it's when you don't talk about it, it becomes a problem and difficult. Clients get nervous about it if you don't. Business is business. Clients need to know what they are buying and you need to know what you are selling and the cost of that can determine who gets involved and how far the outcome and impact can travel. We're not the cheapest creative agency or the most expensive, but as the saying goes, 'if your client isn't willing to invest in an outcome, it's not really a big enough problem for them'. We've always been invested in creating and designing marketing that works.

“Cheap prices attract rubbish clients/customers!” That was a quote from a delegate at a webinar I attended yesterday on pricing. Over recent years in our industry, some participants have been involved in a race to the bottom in providing a cut to the bone, cheap, basic service. Nothing wrong with that, but as a business we decided a few years back that this wasn’t for our clients or us, and in recent independently carried out client interviews we heard loud and clear from our clients that they value greatly the personal, tailored, quality service provided by our experienced Scottish based team. We are certainly not the most expensive #accountants out there, but we’re not the cheapest either. What we do is always try our very best to provide a great, value for money, personal service to all our clients.
