Art can reveal what is within you when you use a body-led process. A creative's mind from the inside out: I see the horizon. It’s ready to reveal its energy. It’s hard to see how it all will come together. So much going on. The movement. It’s sketchy. Unclear. I don’t know where to look. What’s the part that’s going to make it all work? This feels like a lot to take on. [February 25, 2024] ⇧ ⇧ ⇧ Lines from my journal. We all have a lot of moving parts in our lives. Some days it all blends together. And clarity feels fleeting. Moments that have me questioning my plans. Not my ultimate why I’m going for them. But how I’m going about it. Yet I believe that my why is the key. I’ll figure out the how along the way. PS. If you are curious about the body-led process I used to make this artwork, I invite you to join the list. ▾▾▾ Expressing nurtures creativity. I love the use of art as a supplement to words in a journal. I love journaling (now that I know how to journal beyond just a recap of my day...haha! In high school, I always wrote "Dear diary" style and I was always guarded...like someone was going to read it one day) - and now I've learned to freely journal (my fears, my goals, my negative thoughts) - it is very freeing and therapeutic. I love the idea of using art to express these feelings as well - what a cool avenue to explore and such a different pathway for the brain 😍 !
poetry-like content. I love it 😁
Love this solid nudge that shows how our Why paves the way for the How.
Your art and words beautifully capture the complexity of life's journey.
Can clearly see the sun ☀️ calling through the landscape
I'm actually drawn to the turquoise line on the horizon in this one!
Tricia Edwards I absolutely feel the why is the key, and I'm trying to pick one thing, anything, to act on to avoid the stuckness of wondering. Everything we do yields data, and all data teaches us something!
You question your plans and that's fine but your essence shouldn't be compromised. Tricia Edwards. 👏
Divergence and convergence are both integral parts of the creative process right Tricia Edwards, just not both equally comfortable!
Guiding Inner Calm & Flow, One Session at a Time
10moThis was before I started to add grey on top. I had additional thoughts on this piece before I went to sleep last night. I put down the bright colors in Prismacolor pencils. Then add grey water-based markers on top. I think it isn't about covering up. Making it cloudy and smoky. Reducing clarity. Self-doubt. Because I start with the bright colors. (I could have easily done this in reverse. Try to make grey pencil brighter.) It's more about the discovery of the vibrant internal being. No grey can prevent them from glowing. There's nothing wrong with taking a moment to question, observe, and analyze. It doesn't have to be self-doubt. If I always go back to my internal light, I know if it is aligned.
