It goes without saying that creativity is the most fundamental aspect of any artist’s or creative professional’s work. Whatever form or scope it takes, our work or the art we make is a manifestation of our creativity. As creative professionals we also have other possibilities to use our power of creativity. Not just to produce our art or creative services, but to be creative in how we navigate challenges and our work day-to-day as artists and creatives. Where else could you be using the power of your creativity in your work as a creative professional? I share some observations and perspective on this in my latest blogpost. https://lnkd.in/g6bcfwg6 Image: Cylla Von Tiedemann Artwork: Kat Honey #CreativePractice #CreativeCareer #CreativeWork #CreativeBusiness #CreativePracticeDevelopment #CreativeBusinessDevelopment #CreativeCareerDevelopment #ProfessionalGrowth

Some questions I ask myself when I'm in a creative rut: What story am I telling? Whether abstract or literal, every piece of art has a story. Think about the emotions, narratives, or experiences your work will convey. What am I willing to risk? Growth often lies in experimenting and embracing the unknown. Are you pushing yourself beyond your comfort zone? Who is this piece for? Are you creating for yourself, a particular audience, or someone who needs to feel seen? Sometimes, this purpose can change the entire approach. Am I staying true to my vision? Trends are fun, but does your work reflect what you want to say? Authenticity in art shines through every brushstroke and line. How does this piece make me feel? Before anyone else reacts, how does your art make you feel? Does it challenge you, soothe you, or spark something new? What am I learning about myself through this piece? Art can be a mirror. Sometimes the work reveals truths you didn’t know you were holding. What are you discovering? How does my medium enhance my message? Every tool or medium brings its own texture and voice. Does your choice of materials enhance the message or feeling you’re aiming for? What questions do you ask yourselves? #Authenticity #ArtVision

Artistic thinking is not just for artists. It can also help you stand out. → Break free from the norm Color outside the lines, explore bold ideas. Catch a break from "how things are always done" → Embrace the process Experimenting, iterating, and learning, Value the journey just as much as the finished good. → Master emotional storytelling Paint stories that move people. Let your creation speak for itself, don’t sell it. → Fearless Risk-Taking Take on challenges others avoid, Keep creating despite constant rejection. → Create with Passion It’s contagious and connects with others. Channel your energy into what’s meaningful to you. Do you think art and business are connected?

Every creative knows the struggle of facing a blank page, screen, or canvas. That intimidating emptiness can feel endless, but it’s also full of possibilities. The trick is to create daily, even when inspiration feels miles away. Small actions lead to momentum, and every stroke, word, or note you put down is progress. Creativity doesn’t always arrive in flashes; sometimes it grows through consistent effort. Let go of the need for perfection and just start. Show up, create daily, and let the journey reveal what you’re truly capable of. #CreateDaily & #KeepCreating

Inspiration is the heartbeat of any creative process. Just as we can't "find" meaning but must create it, the same goes for inspiration, it doesn't come out of nowhere. It needs to be developed, nurtured, and maintained. For creatives, discovering ways to actively make, foster, and maintain inspiration is helpful. It's about shifting the mindset from waiting for inspiration to taking an active role in nurturing it and keeping that spark alive to stay motivated and continue creating. Curiosity is key to developing and maintaining inspiration. Stay open to exploration. How do you keep your creativity flowing? How I'm going to 10x my Artistic growth. My plan for heading into 2025. That feeling.. Being stuck in a rut, Not knowing where to go next. Well that's me right now. I just reread the war of art, It reminded me of this: Approach art like a pro athlete. So here is my roadmap, Maybe it inspires you as well. 1. Build my mental library → Look at great work that makes my skin tingle. → Build a good reference bank w/ cool sh*t → Learn to see & think outside the box. It's the exposure effect. You know how things should look. You are the average of the things you see ;) Learned this from @arturtamiola. Stupid simple, But works. 2. Analyze the greats Leans into the above, But more technical. → How t'f do those plants look so good? → How are those images constructed? → Why does this composition work? → What are the color harmonies? → Figure out the color grading. These insights are critical. They figured it out already. Reconstruct if deemed necessary. 3. Dedicated creative time. → Currently learning to draw, → That will progress into painting. → That will progress into concept art. → That should progress into awesomeness. Learning how to draw manga atm So much fun! 4. Learn from different fields → Learn from the old masters. → Learn from other fields like vfx, concept art. → Fundamentals, Fundamentals, Fundamentals. A lot of wisdom in the old masters, Nothing fancy, Just sh*t that works. 5. Practice like a pro Speaks for it self. You can see a lot. But if you don't apply. It's intellectual self pleasure. So: → Practice, practice, practice. → Even if it is for 30min. Wainting for max to respond? time to sketch a bit. Remember, it's a marathon, not a sprint Is it a bit much? Maybe. But I'll die on the hill to became a great artist. 📌 PS: What is your plan to grow as an artist?

Art can reveal what is within you when you use a body-led process. A creative's mind from the inside out: I see the horizon. It’s ready to reveal its energy. It’s hard to see how it all will come together. So much going on. The movement. It’s sketchy. Unclear. I don’t know where to look. What’s the part that’s going to make it all work? This feels like a lot to take on. [February 25, 2024] ⇧ ⇧ ⇧ Lines from my journal. We all have a lot of moving parts in our lives. Some days it all blends together. And clarity feels fleeting. Moments that have me questioning my plans. Not my ultimate why I’m going for them. But how I’m going about it. Yet I believe that my why is the key. I’ll figure out the how along the way. PS. If you are curious about the body-led process I used to make this artwork, I invite you to join the list. ▾▾▾ Expressing nurtures creativity. One way creativity can flow is by sight! Sight is a powerful tool for unlocking creative flow. Here's how: ● See the world differently: Notice cool stuff around you, like nature's beauty or interesting people. This can spark new ideas for your work! ● Use pictures as starters: Feeling uninspired? Look at photos, art, or even random shapes! They can challenge you to think creatively and come up with fresh ideas. Bonus tip: Looking closely at things can actually calm your mind and help new ideas pop up! So next time you're stuck, take a moment to look around. You might just surprise yourself with the inspiration you find! #creativity #inspiration #visualthinking #designthinking
