How can a person's legacy gifting transform their local community? This week marks the start of #RememberACharity Week, a time to learn about the powerful impact that legacy gifting can have on communities across the UK. Leaving a gift in your Will is one of the most meaningful ways to give back to causes that have made a difference in your life. Through legacy gifting, you can ensure your support continues to touch lives long after you’re gone. At UK Community Foundations, we are privileged to witness the long-term benefits that legacy donations bring to local communities. These gifts provide vital resources for grassroots organisations and projects that make a real difference. Whether it’s funding local health initiatives, supporting youth programmes or fostering community cohesion, legacy donations are an investment for the future of our communities. Why consider legacy gifting? 🌟 A lasting impact: your legacy gift is a way to leave behind something that outlives you, benefiting generations to come. 🌟 Support local causes: through your community foundation, your gift can directly support the area where you live, ensuring your legacy is felt locally. 🌟A personal connection: you can tailor your legacy gift to support causes that align with your values, whether in education, healthcare, the arts or environmental sustainability. During this week, we invite you to learn more about how you can leave a gift that keeps on giving. Find out more about legacy gifting and how you can make a difference, whether directly or through your financial adviser: 👇 https://lnkd.in/eC72ACA2 #LegacyGifting #LeaveALegacy #LocalImpact #CommunityFoundations

This weekend, I had the chance to volunteer with Meals on Wheels, delivering meals to 25 individuals—21 of whom received enough for the week. It was a gentle reminder of how much need there is in our communities and how important it is to stay involved throughout the year, not just during the holidays. If you’re looking for ways to give back that don’t involve donations, here are 5 simple, free ways to make a difference: 1. Volunteer your time: Local food banks, shelters, and organizations like Meals on Wheels can always use an extra set of hands. 2. Offer mentorship: Whether it’s helping students with schoolwork or guiding someone looking to build skills, sharing your knowledge can go a long way. 3. Spread the word: Sometimes, simply sharing information about community resources or volunteer opportunities can connect people to help they need. 4. Organize a collection: Gather items like clothes or food from your friends and family to donate to local organizations. 5. Be a good neighbor: Offer help to someone nearby—whether it’s running an errand, sharing a meal, or just checking in. It’s a privilege to be able to give back in any way, and I’m grateful for the chance to do so. Let’s all keep finding ways to support one another, no matter the season. #Community #GiveBack #SupportLocal *picture blurred for last name privacy and anonymity

"48 Hours" can be the difference between a life of heartache and a life of hope. Alone, scared, hungry, out of money, and often without an I.D – newly homeless and at-risk youth will make bad decisions that they can’t take back... unless our Street Outreach volunteers find them first. For the month of April, they will work harder than ever to hit known hotspots (under bridges, bus stations, city parks) to distribute sleeping bags, clothing, food packs, and hygiene products and connect these kids with emergency housing, outreach centers and vital resources and referrals. We want them to know they have options, that there is a way out, and there are caring adults who believe in them – so they can move forward with hope. Need help or know a youth who does? A Story of Giving Back: ..and a reminder of why we do what we do at Krsna’s Free Meals. Sometimes, the most powerful inspiration comes from those we serve. Today, we revisit a heartwarming story that reminds us why we do what we do. A migrant worker who proudly received his tradesman certification from the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) stopped by Krsna's Free Meals. But instead of simply getting his meal and leaving, he surprised us with a donation! His words resonated deeply as he expressed how Krsna's Free Meals has given him so much, and now, it's my turn to give back." This throwback story serves as a powerful reminder of the impact we create. Every meal served, every life touched, fuels our passion to keep going. Together, we can make a difference! Stories like this motivate us to continue offering nutritious meals to those in need. Will you join us in this meaningful journey? #GivingBack #CommunityCare #Flashback #FoodDonation #GoodSamaritanBill #Sustainability #CommunitySupport #KrsnaFreeMeals #migrantworkers #soupkitchen #volunteersingapore #givingsg #KrsnaFreeMeals #ZooAdventure #ActsOfKindness #GratitudeInAction #migrantworkers #SpreadJoy #volunteersingapore #AnonymousDonor #CommunitySupport #MakeADifference

🌍 Make a Difference this Giving Tuesday 🌍 Giving Tuesday, observed on December 3, 2024, is a global generosity movement that inspires millions to take action and make a difference in their communities. This year’s theme, ‘radical generosity,’ challenges us to root our decisions and actions in the belief that the suffering of others should matter as much as our own. It’s about fostering systemic change, not just through monetary giving but in the way we treat each other daily. In Bermuda, the nonprofit sector is critical to our community’s health, safety, and well-being, yet these organisations face significant funding challenges. Last year, $315,000 was donated through GiveBermuda.org during the Giving Tuesday to Christmas period. But the need is ongoing. Visit www.GiveBermuda.org today to find and support nonprofits working in areas that matter to you. Together, we can ensure that Bermuda’s nonprofits have the resources to continue their vital work for years to come. Let’s make this Giving Tuesday a day that sparks lasting impact. 💙 #GivingTuesday #GiveBermuda #RadicalGenerosity #BermudaFoundation #CommunityImpact https://lnkd.in/e6_z7VCA

🎄Support Local Women and Children in Need This Christmas🎄 The countdown to Christmas has begun. Many of us are preparing for time with family and friends, reflecting on the year, and giving thanks for what we have. However, not everyone has a safe place to call home, and many women and children in our community are facing difficult circumstances. This year, I’m reaching out to support a local cause, the women’s refuge. They provide a safe haven and support to women escaping domestic violence and other crisis situations. You can help bring joy and comfort to women, children, and babies in need. I am collecting donations for Christmas presents and need support to make their Christmas a little brighter this year. 💖How You Can Make a Difference: I’m asking for donations of any kind—whether it’s new or gently used clothing, toiletries, toys for children, or even a financial contribution. Your generosity will help provide much-needed supplies and a sense of hope and dignity to women who are rebuilding their lives. Let’s come together as a community to make this holiday season a little brighter for those who need it most. Your kindness could mean the world to someone who’s going through a difficult time. For more information, please drop me a direct message. Donations required by 15th December For more info, drop me a direct message. Together, we can make a difference and help these families feel loved and supported this Christmas. #SupportWomen #ChristmasCharity #WomensRefuge #CommunitySupport #EndDomesticViolence
