As an internal HR Consultant, I find my role to be quite unique. I have the opportunity to closely collaborate with business leaders on change initiatives. As I am still early in my career ,my peers in the business at the same time are open to providing feedback on the execution of these initiatives. Recently, I came across an excellently written executive summary of SHRPA 2024 by People Matters. Using a concept in this paper, I’ve been assessing the people initiatives I’ve been involved in. Thanks Parul Suri for sharing this. Here are some key points to evaluate whether organizations demonstrates high levels of change readiness while maintaining low levels of satisfaction around change execution: A. Change Readiness: Our employees express satisfaction with how our business adapts to a changing environment. A. Change Execution: People recognize that the right individuals with the appropriate capabilities are assigned to the right roles. B. Change Readiness: Our organization has a clearly defined purpose for implementing change. B. Change Execution: We consistently deliver a superior employee experience during these changes. C. Change Readiness : Organization demonstrates agility in meeting changing customer demands. C. Before you invest in another tool for your business, ask yourself: “how much of this is rooted within the mindset of the whole company?” Ask any seasoned executive, and they’re likely to tell you that the challenges their companies face are adaptive (i.e. what lies in the minds, hearts, and guts of people) not technical (i.e. lacking money, time, resources, systems, etc.) You can have the best technology in the world at your fingertips: but if your people struggle to work collaboratively together, then what’s the point?
