🚨 Important Shopify Update for Your Store's Checkout Customizations & Tracking! 🚨 Missed the 8/13/24 deadline? Don't panic! 😌 Your conversion tracking won't break overnight, but here’s what you need to know: As of 8/13/24, Checkout.liquid customizations will be locked for Info, Shipping, and Payment pages, and you'll no longer be able to modify the code. These customizations will remain active until 8/28/25, after which Checkout.liquid will be turned off for the Thank You and Order Status pages (including Additional Scripts). ⚠️ What's next? You need to identify all scripts and plugins making changes to your checkout.liquid because everything will be removed after these deadlines. 👉 Use this link to find an auto-generated list of your current checkout customizations: https://lnkd.in/diA4pDyT #Shopify #Ecommerce #CheckoutCustomization #DigitalCommerce #ShopifyUpdates #ShopifyMerchant

We developed this Prelogin system for Pilgrim which I felt was quite impressive. Default Shopify checkout feels boring with lots of fields in quick succession needs to be filled. It can cause lots of dropoffs and less user conversion. I personally stopped purchasing for many brands as I get tired of filling addresses. Here flow is quite simple. When you click on cart checkout you need to enter your phone number and flow happens based on whether you are an old customer or a new one. Here is a screenshot of the same. You can checkout it at website. #ecommerce

Big news regarding Shopify's new Checkout Extensibility! Shopify's checkout system is getting an upgrade. This means better security, faster loading times, and more customization options for your checkout experience. It also means that your revenue tracking for A/B testing could be impacted. One key change with Checkout Extensibility is how revenue tracking works for A/B testing. Previously, revenue conversions were tracked using additional scripts on the Order Status page. However, with the new system, you should utilize Shopify's web pixels for tracking revenue conversions in Compose. Here's the good news: this change is seamless for Compose users. All you need to do is: ⚙️ Visit your project settings in Compose 📄 In the “Snippets” tab, copy the snippet under “Shopify Usage” 🛃 In your Shopify admin, find the “Customer events” settings. ➕️ Click “Add custom pixel” and paste in the revenue tracking snippet from Compose. ✅️ Verify the pixel status is “Connected” once saved #Shopify #ABTesting #Compose #ShopifyExtensibility #RevenueTracking #eCommerce

yes exactly, if there is a minor upgrade you can pick the code according to your need from the upgraded version. otherwise it will be just waste of time and money.
Custom Shopify development, optimization and technical solutions. Worked with 100+ Shopify stores, 10+ Shopify Plus stores.
Reminder: when there's a new Shopify theme version, 99% of the time it's completely okay to skip upgrading. Most stores have a lot of custom code on their theme already. So the upgrade can't be applied automatically. Instead of the huge development effort to merge the custom code into the new version, do this: Go to the theme's page, and look at the "Release notes". If you do see a change that's necessary, then have your developer merge that change only. It's a lot more practical. A lot of people think that when adding custom code to the theme, everything will automatically sort itself out in the future. It's not like that, and it's a cost that comes with running a business based on software. #shopify #shopifyplus #ecommerce

About Shopify Summer Edition A few short remarks. First, Shopify is joining the relatively recent chorus towards Unified Commerce, a noteworthy shift that reflects current dynamics in the commerce market. Second, Shopify is showing (apparently, details of course require verification) that it is one of the e-commerce platform companies able to innovate and willing to address its historical gaps and/or design choices. This comes despite being labeled by digital gurus as a "monolith," implying it "cannot deliver fast business value in production". So what's the takeaway here? Learn Software Design, talk less, do more. #shopify #ecommerce #software #design
