After an incredible 15 years at MSK, this chapter of my life has closed. During this time, I had the privilege of giving my all in service to the institution’s world-changing mission, ending cancer for life. And as a bonus, I made incredible friends along the way. Although there are many highlights from my time at MSK, these are a few that are particularly meaningful to me: - Transforming the Talent Acquisition function to support the institution’s remarkable growth phase, including opening most regional sites, the Josie Robertson Surgery Center, and the David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care. - Stepping into MSK’s inaugural Chief Diversity Officer role in 2019 and leading the organization through many new challenges, including the summer of 2020. - Being an advocate for the MSK community to develop HR solutions based on the voice of employees. - Fostering inclusion and belonging for our employees through increased access to internal job opportunities, removing barriers to continued education, launching an inclusion-centric engagement series, and developing new employee resource networks. - Addressing talent shortages and reimagining pipeline opportunities to recruit new talent through programs such as Laboratory Scholars and High School Apprenticeships. - Launching the Leader Talent Dashboard to drive the adoption of using data-driven insights to guide talent decisions. - Serving as the Interim CHRO for 18 months, onboarding new members of the Executive Leadership Team and championing solutions to address enterprise challenges. I am incredibly grateful for this time in my life and am equally excited for the future. I look forward to sharing more news about my next chapter, but for now, I look forward to some stress-free time recalibrating and enjoying my family.
An incredible journey leading the MSK organization and being the people’s voice, especially for DEI change. Although our time as colleagues was only a short time of your remarkable career at MSK, I still remember our hallway chats with Alana Silverman Elizabeth Greiner, MHA Catherine Hershey. Many congratulations on your success and all the best wishes for what’s to come. -S
You and I are indelibly tied because of your sponsorship, and support of me and my career. You are my forever sister. I am grateful that as recently as a few days ago when I needed a gut check, I got it. You were right!
You left a positive mark and touched so many with your wisdom, practicality, get it done attitude, and humor. Recharge your battery as you enter into the next chapter.
Tomya, you are a rare gem, and you will be missed. I have so enjoyed working with you and being inspired by you over the years. I wish you only the best.

2moTomya Watt I often think of you when I think I about how and why I want to “pay it forward”. You took time from your very important role to invite an ambitious 20 something year old into your office and discuss career options (multiple times) with me. You expected nothing in return, you were open and honest, and you made me feel seen and deserving of success at a time when I did not. Thank you for all you contributed to MSK and for the mark you left on me! Best of luck in the next chapter!
