Despite the predictions of many pundits, the franchised dealer distribution system remains a vital and robust component of the automotive industry. While direct models like Tesla's have garnered attention, the value of local dealers has only become more apparent. Franchised dealers are more than just points of sale; they are integral parts of their communities. They provide personalized service, create local jobs, and support regional economies. Their deep-rooted relationships with customers foster trust and long-term loyalty that cannot be replicated by impersonal direct sales models. The franchise system’s resilience lies in its adaptability and customer-centric approach. Dealers offer a comprehensive value proposition: expert knowledge, dedicated service, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. This unique combination ensures that the franchise model continues to thrive, meeting the evolving needs of today’s car buyers. As Dealers, we pride ourselves on embodying these principles, delivering exceptional service and fostering strong community ties. The franchise system is not just surviving; it’s thriving, proving its enduring value in an ever-changing market. 🚗 #AutomotiveIndustry #nada #FranchiseDealers #CommunityValue #CustomerService #JobCreation #EconomicSupport #LocalBusinesses #DealerNetwork #TrustAndLoyalty #CustomerRelationships #FranchiseSuccess #AutomotiveDistribution National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Scout Motors Inc. Texas franchise laws have promoted competition for decades by ensuring that locally owned dealerships, rooted in their communities, must compete to sell new cars and trucks. Franchised New Auto & Truck Dealerships provide for the efficient distribution of vehicles and provide certified service & repair facilities across the state and not just major metro areas. They provide a local presence where Texas consumers can have service, warranty, and recall work performed even in cases when a motor vehicle manufacturer ceases to do business. Can you name the brands missing from dealers lots in the past 50 years?
Great insights! The adaptability and customer-centric approach of franchised dealers are truly remarkable. Their role in local job creation and community support is invaluable. 🚀
Franchise dealers will continue to serve as pillars of their communities. I have no question about dealers' abilities to adapt to new technology and market demands.
Local Dealers = Transformational vs Transactional experiences. Great post Tom McCollum 🔥💪🏼💯
Awesome Tom! Thanks so much for this! As an industry, we need to often remind ourselves that the franchised dealer system not only brings value to the local economy but also brings the best experience, pricing for the consumer thanks to local competition for the same brands.
well said sir.
Couldn’t agree more and your team has always personified trust and integrity. Great leader and great team!
Well said Tom, it’s vital to engage with your community & clients.

7moThe Tesla model worked for them but keep in mind they are not set up in every market and state. They completely avoid certain areas of the country due to low expected demand. Imaging other manufacturers not having a single dealer in a whole state. Not to mention the issues they are currently facing with employees. They are laying off thousands and still advertising to hire in certain areas. Again, imagine a company like ford trying to directly hire thousands of people to assist at local delivery and service stations. It would be a logistical nightmare.
