Think of it like this: Imagine a sculptor. They have the vision and skill to shape a masterpiece. But what if they could use a robotic arm to handle the heavy lifting and tedious tasks? AI can be that arm, freeing the sculptor to focus on the creative aspects. Just as a writer like yourself, you craft compelling stories. But what if you had access to a vast database of information and could instantly analyze audience preferences? AI can be that tool, helping the you tailor you work for maximum impact. AI enhances our effectiveness in several ways: Automates Mundane Tasks: AI can handle repetitive, time-consuming tasks, freeing us to focus on complex problem-solving and strategic thinking. Augments Decision-Making: AI can analyze vast amounts of data and identify patterns that humans might miss, providing valuable insights for informed decision-making. Sparks Innovation: AI can explore possibilities beyond human intuition, generating new ideas and approaches that we might not have considered. In my experience working with generative AI in motion graphic video production, I've observed a significant divide between those who embrace AI and those who resist it. This divide is becoming a clear indicator of who will thrive in the evolving landscape of technology and who may find themselves left behind. AI is no longer just an optional skill or a luxury; it’s rapidly becoming an essential tool. While some may perceive AI-generated content as lacking authenticity or being imperfect, it’s important to remember that this technology is still in its early stages. Despite its relative infancy, AI's capabilities are advancing at an unprecedented rate. The enhancements we see today are just the beginning—imagine where we’ll be in a few years. The key takeaway is that AI will not replace those who harness its power and integrate it into their workflows. As a designer, I've often been asked if AI will replace our roles. While AI has made significant strides in various fields, it's important to recognize its limitations when it comes to creative design. You know what's with AI - There's always this telltale sign: you can just tell it's AI. Something just feels a bit off, a bit too perfect, or sometimes weirdly imperfect in ways that don't make sense. It's that human touch, that slight imperfection or unexpected twist, that's missing. You might have a completely different opinion and I am open to chat ☕️ But I do believe in the below equation - Humans + AI = Design Superheroes 🦸 When we pair up humans and AI, that's when the magic happens. AI is like that friend who throws out a million ideas a minute. Some are wild, some are genius. The human designer? They're the one who catches those ideas, shapes them, and turns them into something amazing. It's teamwork at its finest.

If AI is the hammer, not everything is a nail. How I approach AI in our Video workflow. It's tempting to think AI can solve every challenge in video production. But the reality is, AI is just one tool in our creative toolbox, and knowing when and how to use it is everything. Here’s how to approach AI in video production: ➔ Understanding the Project: Can AI actually add Value? If so great ✔ speed up processes ✔ save team members' time ✔ produce a better-quality Video ✔ determine where AI can add the most value. ➔ AI for Efficiency, Not Everything: Use AI to: 1. ideate 2. enhance audio 3. motion tracking 4. baseline colour grade 5. develop accurate storyboards Then, lean on traditional techniques for storytelling and creative direction. ➔ Blend AI with Human Creativity: Ensure AI enhances the vision, not replacing it. By intentionally using AI at the right time, we can enhance our production quality without losing the human touch that makes our work so effective. Just because we have AI doesn’t mean every part of the process should be automated with it. Rather it allows for more human creativity without being stuck in the weeds of a project.
