Determine if a person's qualifications permit them to work in an early years setting and if they can be included in staff ratios. All early years providers working with children from birth to 5 years old must adhere to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) regulations on staff ratios. These regulations specify the required number and qualifications of staff to ensure the safety and needs of all children are met. Providers must ensure that staff have appropriate qualifications, including having at least one staff member trained in paediatric first aid. You can carry out the checks here: https://lnkd.in/eCbgrgmu #earlyyears #childprotection

FIRST AID -AWARNESS PROGRAMME First Aid Awareness is an immediate medical assistant given to accident or indisposed victims before the arrival of a qualified emergency medical service. The course makes students understand the difference between life and death and facilitates to minimize the sufferings of injured. The course trains individuals to provide immediate preliminary medical help to patients before first aid help arrives at the scene. As the incidence of medical emergencies are on the rise in recent years it is important to ensure that health personnel are adequately trained to deal with such events. Very few studies have been performed about knowledge of first aid skills among medical students in India. #snsdesignthinkers #snsdesignthinking #snsinstitutions

This #testimonialtuesday I'm going to share about one of our recent #paediatricfirstaid courses a couple of weeks ago... Our Paediatric First Aid courses have been super popular this year due to the updates to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statuatory Framework in January this year, such that we've scheduled several additional open courses. In order to fit another into the diary this term, Andy (C) and I had to co-deliver i.e. teach one day each of the two day course - it was the only way to accomodate it. For settings that work with children from birth to age 5 years it is mandatory that Paediatric First Aiders are readily available. 😁 Candidates informed me that our teaching styles are so complimentary and that the transition and flow from working with Andy to me was seamless 👍. They were a fabulously fun group to work with. However, candidates also revealed that they were wondering if Andy and I were a husband and wife team (!) until I stated that in my household (when available) 'my husband deals with the vomit, and I deal with the blood' - Andy had stated exactly the same, so they realised we weren't a couple 🤣🤣🤣! I first met and worked with Andy in 2010, and he joined the team at Underwood Training in 2019, so we've been working together for a while now. One of the many things we do at team Underwood is meet each term for a 'Trainer Update Training Day' as part of our #cpd which includes benchmarking of practical demos and critiquing of portions of course delivery by other members of our team, in addition to updating on latest changes to #firstaid practice. Clearly this is really beneficial. [It also means that if there is an emergency such as illness of a team member, then another trainer can step in without any detriment to candidate qualifications.] There was just too much kind and positive feedback from the course cohort to pick one quote, so here's a selection in the graphic below. #feedbackmatters #teamwork #eyfs
