Top 100 Black women in Canada to watch 2023/CEO/Founder of BWIE & CEO/Founder It Is Tia Upshaw

🌟 Reflecting on my journey since the Halifax Chamber awards video in 2023, where I didn't win for two consecutive years, I've come to realize there was a bigger purpose for me beyond those accolades. The growth and transformation I've experienced since then have been truly remarkable. It's astonishing how much we can evolve in such a short time frame. I've become more discerning, understanding who truly supports me and uncovering those who may not have had my best interests at heart. This newfound wisdom has been invaluable in navigating both personal and professional relationships. Speaking of professional growth, I've exceeded my own expectations, achieving milestones that once seemed out of reach. My businesses are thriving, and BWIE, the cornerstone of my professional journey, is approaching its fourth anniversary. The impact it has had on the lives of over 120 Black women directly through our 16 week start up program, and countless others indirectly, fills me with immense pride and gratitude. The flourishing of numerous Black businesses since the inception of BWIE is nothing short of inspiring. It reinforces my belief in the power of leadership and community. True leadership, I've come to understand, lies in creating opportunities for others to succeed. As we continue to push boundaries and challenge stereotypes, I am reminded of the importance of embracing growth and empowering others. Here's to striving for even greater achievements in the future, fueled by a commitment to leadership, empowerment, and community. ✨ #Leadership #Empowerment #BusinessGrowth #BWIE

Tia, awards are a reflection of how others value your contribution. But more importantly the gratitude and satisfaction you receive from those you lift up are far more important than any other. I look forward to your continued journey upward as you take one and all with you for the ride!

I see Tia explained as T-I-A as Tia (herself). In Action, either way, Tia is TIA. Great job and congratulations and cheers to more years of impact at #BlackWomenInExcellence
