Irina Paraschivoiu will present our Escape Fake journey alongside many other super interesting people from art and culture in Salzburg.
This Thursday 19:00 in Salzburg, entrance is free and there is a live band. 🎷
Escape Fake goes Pecha Kucha!
We are happy to have been invited to take part in Salzburg's Pecha Kucha event this month, tackling Digital Transformation in Art and Culture, in the framework of Salzburg City's Cultural Strategy!
Pecha Kucha is a great format that invites speakers to narrow down their talking points to only 20 seconds per slide.
We will also be in good company with Karl Zechenter, Florian Jindra, Sonja Prlic, Marius Schebella and many others.
So how about joining us on Thursday evening? The entrance is free and there is also a live band 🎼 .

Today one of our most important partners Aalto University posted a story about our family foundation Saastamoinen Foundation. We work actively to promote science and art internationally. Each of us has different work backgrounds within the foundation, which supports the bigger picture. When the change of generations is relevant at some point, it seems that we, the younger ones, have a very good starting point to continue working in the direction of making the world an even better place for science, art and society.

✨ University of Tartu at the Opinion Festival / Arvamusfestival in Paide ✨
Today and tomorrow you can see about 40 researchers from the University of Tartu speaking and discussing in Paide at the opinion festival.
Today at 14 you can follow the discussion “Diginomads and Other Superheroes of Migration” online, led by Tiit Tammaru (Professor at the University of Tartu, Member of the Estonian Academy of Sciences) 👇.
Digital revolution has brought along changes in the way we communicate, work, live and manage our everyday life. ’Digital nomad’ has become a well-known term. The digital revolution is also influencing the decisions about where to live, habits related to everyday mobility, but also migration patterns. We explore the changes in the spatial functioning of societies, shaped by digital transformations.

𝐈𝐬 𝐎𝐬𝐥𝐨 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲?...𝘐 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘵..." This is the new campaign of VisitOSLO.. or should I call it it anti-campaign, anti-adverstisment?
In this part of the Denmark (Jutland), when people want to say that something is good they just say 'it is not so bad', and if something is 'great'... it's probably not.
The ad could not be a better mirror of Nordic humor and mentality. It has a hidden statement that this not like all the other cities, that always brag. This is a special city, you can just meet e.g. the Prime Minister or the King. Notice also, how smallness, equality, convenience and hygge are all interwoven.
...But if you remove the irony (saying the opposite) from it, you end up with the same bragging... Oslo has a lot of amazing things to offer... you just can cannot say it that way.
The question is, would potential visitors get it?

NEW VIDEO: The Future of Europe: Start making the Future a Priority! #Futurist Gerd Leonhard explains https://gerd.fm/48FWbY2. This is Lanzarote conversations #6 on the Future of Europe - why Europeans urgently need to develop our #futuremindset and why the combination of humanism and future-readiness is essential (pro-activity AND pre-caution). #thegoodfuture#lanzaroteconversations
For a long time, the idea of looking at the future has been considered "American" and Anglo-centric. The leaders in #futurism such as Alvin Toffler, Buckminster Fuller and Arthur C. Clarke, were science fiction writers, filmmakers, scientists, and designers, and America embraced futuristic thinking in its entrepreneurial ethos.
In Europe, there has long been more emphasis on perfection (Germany!) efficiency, risk avoidance (#Switzerland !), and enjoying life-as-it-is (La Dolce Vita - Italy!) rather than inventing something completely new, and rocking the boat.
Europeans sometimes tend to value the past and preserve it under any circumstance - some people have even remarked that #europe is more like a museum while America is more like a playground.
But recently, there is a growing recognition in Europe that we need to embrace the future and take more risks; recognizing that you either make the future, or someone else makes it for you!
As I like to say, science fiction is increasingly becoming science fact. The pace of change is accelerating, with developments such as self-driving cars and vertical farms already a reality. It is therefore crucial for Europe to recognize this and adapt its MINDSET! Our Mindset contains our Future.
And that's a wrap on our first Political Innovation Workshop, in partnership with the Kvarken Council EGTC and Mälardalsrådet. 🎉
In this initiative, we're developing a guide that demonstrates how we, as megaregions, are political innovators. Our opening workshop in Copenhagen was a productive start to our collaboration and a great opportunity to connect and share ideas with our peers from Sweden and Finland.
Political Innovation marks the foundation of STRING's work. As a concept with diverse interpretations political innovation is hard to illustrate without real-world examples, marking this guide's value. It's designed to do more than just define the impact of our work; it will also map out the strategies and tools that drive our success.
It was great to have you here in Copenhagen, Mathias Lindström, Johanna Häggman, Maria Nimvik Stern and Johan Hjelm. We are looking forward to collaborate on this project with you!

🌍 The more global the world becomes, the more important cultural networks between nations will be. With technology on the rise, will we see a new cultural revolution in Europe, much like in the second half of the 20th century?
