Try a new #LiberatingStructure with us tomorrow! Our Liberating Structures group meet monthly to try out new Liberating Structures in a safe and welcoming space. In December's meet up, we'll be identifying obstacles and opportunities for progress with Ecocycle Planning. What is Ecocycle Planning? 💡 You’ll formulate action steps linked to each phase: actions that accelerate growth during the birth phase, actions that extend life or increase efficiency during the maturity phase, actions that prune dead wood or compost rigid practices during the creative destruction phase, actions that connect creative people or prepare the ground for birth during the renewal phase. This process can help eliminate or mitigate common bottlenecks that stifle performance by sifting your team/project’s portfolio of activities, identifying which elements are starving for resources and which ones are rigid and hampering progress. The Ecocycle makes it possible to spur agility, resilience and sustained performance by including all four phases of development in the planning process. Whether you're new to Liberating Structures or not, join us to explore in a friendly setting. Book: https://brnw.ch/21wPbLu

Susana Guardado and I are happy to be working with the participants of our four-week "Facilitating Online with Liberating Structures" course right now. Last week, we explored Ecocycle Planning—a visual, dynamic way to map the lifecycle of projects, initiatives, or activities within an organization—and it sparked a lot of interest within the group. Never heard of Ecocycle Planning? Visit this link to read about it on the Liberating Structures website. This structure could help organizations: 🌱 Nurture innovation by identifying where to invest energy in emerging ideas. 🍃 Declutter workloads by recognizing what’s ready to be harvested or retired. 🌳 Create balance by aligning activities across stages of development and renewal. Several participants also saw ways to apply Ecocycle Planning personally, using it to prioritize and make meaningful decisions in their own lives. #Facilitation #LiberatingStructures #EcocyclePlanning #FacilitatingOnline #LearningDesign

🌍🌱 Happy World Environment Day from GAPTEK! 🌱🌍 At GAPTEK, sustainable development and respect for the environment are at the core of everything we do. Our innovative construction system, grounded in the principles of the circular economy, meets key indicators for sustainable building benefits: 🔹𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝘄 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀: We use aluminum, a fully recyclable material, sourced from renewable sources. 🔹𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗢𝟮 𝗘𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: GAPTEK buildings emit up to 21% less CO2 compared to conventional constructions. 🔹𝗟𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Our buildings are designed to use less energy per square meter per year. 🔹𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: We optimize all project phases to limit superfluous waste production. 🔹𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Reduced installation costs and economic savings in maintenance. 🔹𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁: Using aluminum instead of steel reduces CO2 emissions by 20.21% during construction. Plus, the lighter weight reduces the environmental impact during transport, assembly, and deconstruction. Join us in celebrating World Environment Day by committing to sustainable practices and making a positive impact on our planet. Together, we can build a greener future! 🌿💚 #WorldEnvironmentDay #Sustainability #GAPTEK #GreenBuilding #EcoFriendly #RenewableEnergy

They wanted to find a way to live sustainably. But everything they did contributed to emitting more CO2. Then they bought a piece of land and started experimenting with it in public. Now they've built a project that's followed by millions of people that are aligned with their values and who seek to develop the same lifestyle. Instead of chasing funding or collaborations, funding and collaborations find them. If you've ever wondered if it's possible to do something ambitious for the common good, know that it's possible. It starts with helping others visualise what's possible, taking that first step and inviting others to jump in. Because sometimes the best way to find what you're looking for is to build it yourself, but design it in a way that others can participate actively rather than be passive users. Here's how Project Kamp did this (and ended up with millions of viewers and hundreds of contributors): https://lnkd.in/ecnC6frE

The future of the arid southwest is closely tied to the future of water. Here's to WAVR being a key enabler of that future.
Water sustainability is top of mind and getting top coverage here in Las Vegas. Big thanks to the Pulitzer Prize winning Las Vegas Sun for their piece on the breakthroughs at WAVR Technologies. This is all about building on the thought leadership and innovation at UNLV, where the vast ocean of water in the sky becomes the next source of sustainable water. https://lnkd.in/gqbEzRUd Thanks go to UNLV Office of Economic Development, UNLV College of Engineering, Nevada Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED), and NSF Engines: Southwest Sustainability Innovation Engine (SWSIE).

The motivation of the jury – Best newcomer “engcon is the largest global supplier of tiltrotators and associated equipment that contributes to reduced carbon emissions through direct savings in fuel and indirect savings through increased productivity and flexible work. The tiltrotator’s contribution to resource efficiency per excavator (30 tonnes diesel) is around 25% increased productivity, which translates into some 16,200kg CO2 savings per year. In addition, the tiltrotator and associated equipment can replace the need for a higher number of machines for some projects and reduce the wear and tear of excavators by 20–40%, prolonging their lifetime. The tiltorotator also creates a safer way of working, reducing workplace incidents. To meet future demands, the new third generation tiltrotator system is taking progressive steps towards sustainability, applying smart technology to reduce energy consumption, and is adapted to be ready for the electrification of excavators.”
engcon, the leading global manufacturer of tiltrotators, has once again been recognized with an award. This time, it is the Carnegie Sustainability Award 2024 in the category of Best Newcomer. Could we, finally, agree to the fact that we all need to take action and act differently? Researchers have for decades been trying to warn us. What might be new, is the fact that the graphical, illustrative and easy-understandable messages have been heavily improved. At Building Green DK last week in Forum, many in the audience had tears in their eyes during and after the brilliant presentation by Johan Rockström on the health status of our magical Planet Earth. Build less. Build fewer m2 pr. user. When you purchase products for your renovation, transformation and new-build, then purchase a) 1-1 direct reused materials, b) biobased products and c) our speciality, industrialised upcycled products, which we deliver in scale, with fixed pricing and delivery times and with technical and environmental documentation. #wastetovalue #upcycling #scarceresources

𝗗𝗼 like 𝘄𝗲 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 - 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼! Reuse was quite common in the recent past. Money and resources were scarce, so we had to reuse. But somehow and somewhere we lost the way. Single use became the standard because we could afford it and we called it 'convenience', motivated by industrial growth and mass production (which needs 'mass consumption'). Until we reached our limits of this way of living. Turning back to reuse requires a change in mindset, perhaps a little less convenience, but it is not impossible. After all it is what we used to do, not so long ago. Read below post from Phil Storer, a veteran in the European reuse sector.
Reinventing the wheel .... or just reusing it. Why reuse and the circular economy is the future.

Sustainability is a loose term—often a weak word—that describes a need for #rethought, #realignments, and #reinvigoration within the building industry and its supply chain, i.e., the material and product industry. Because it sounds like a lot- many scratch surfaces. 👏There are standout examples that are challenging simple definitions and actions. The natureplus label is one of them. Tilmann Kramolisch -Director at natureplus, passionately believes in joined-up thinking, complex mapping and ditching silos. 🙌 So read on- See what you agree with and challenge what you don't. 👉 Our call to action is thought. #systemsthinking #naturalmaterials #innovation #netzerocarbon #sustainablebuildings #circularity https://lnkd.in/e5HtrcGs
