Did you know... I have lived in quite a few different locations. It was half-term last week, so I took my little dude down to Dorset for a few nights to catch up with some old friends. I lived there from 2001 - 2010. In Bournemouth, I initially worked at Portman Building Society as a mortgage arrears consultant before becoming part of the L&D (learning & development) and HR team. Sadly, as Nationwide took over, my role was made redundant. From there, I switched to working at Standard Life Healthcare and that was my first role as a PA, supporting the Change Management team and providing Execs support. To the outside world, I often think the role of a PA / EA is misunderstood. But the reality is that when you have that role, you learn so much about the business. It's a title that rarely reflects your knowledge and expertise. For example, I had the 'fun' job of taking the board minutes and the minutes for the exec finance meetings. Lots of discussions took place during those meetings, so as a twenty-something (as I was then), it felt like I was shadowing the key decision-makers as I watched and listened to the decisions they made and why. I would also act as a sounding board and confidant and have autonomy to make certain decisions, as well as influence other decisions. When I think back to the experiences I gained working as a PA and EA, I gained so much knowledge and experience. Not in admin as people might initially think but in business acumen. From managing budgets, negotiating pricing and people, decision making, project management, recruitment, HR, health and safety, problem-solving, decision-making, managing people, marketing, etc. It probably explains why I'm good at connecting the dots in business. How do your previous roles feed into what you do now? #PersonalAssistant #ExecutiveAssistant

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭😱 A CEO I once worked with was overwhelmed. She spent hours each week sorting through a mountain of emails, handling personal errands, and managing daily admin tasks. She thought she had to do it all herself to save on costs. But here’s the kicker: Those tasks were eating into her time for strategic thinking and big-picture planning. She missed out on valuable opportunities because she was buried in the details. Sure, hiring an EA means another salary. But here's the real deal: 👉 An EA handles those personal tasks you never get around to. Need those holiday cards sent or a last-minute gift mailed? I've got you. That's more time for you to focus on the work that actually brings in money. 👉 A CEO shouldn’t be bogged down with tasks like sorting through emails. Delegate those administrative duties and free up your time. 👉 With someone dedicated to handling those day-to-day tasks, you regain precious hours. You'll be more focused on growing the business, revising services, and exploring new offers. An Executive Assistant isn’t just an added expense; we’re a game-changer for your business. What administrative tasks are currently eating up your time and holding you back from achieving your full potential? 👀

The 21st Century or what we call the modern times. Is there still a stigma that an Executive Assistant faced in this current period? Let's be honest, most of the people in different industries actually thinks that an Executive Assistant is just in the company to fetched coffee, answer phone calls or just sit there looking pretty. This is the image of every EA's out there in every parts of the world, and most of the times these are the reason why an EA have a hard time in looking for motivation to pursue this type of career. And there are times that they are facing doubts in themselves and their work. It is very hard to find an EA who actually "click" instantly with their bosses since every personality is different. Sometimes, even though compatibility is present what lacks is the recognition and showing that the work done is actually appreciated. A small child seek recognition in every good or right thing that they have done, what more is an adult person? In my opinion, there are two types of an executive assistant. There is an EA who is at the top of the field- being recognized, included and properly compensated. The other one is the EA at the bottom of the filed- this one is being treated as a receptionist, a figurine, a rank and file employee, not properly compensated and not even appreciated. This means that even in the modern times, half of the executive assistants out there still faces the stigma and that ladies and gentlemen is the reality that we EA's needs to overcome. A hard pill to swallow but we need to have a glass full of motivation, intelligence and skills to gulp it smoothly and without a hiccup.

This is so true. Many entrepreneurs, particularly in their formative years, avoid investing in an EA due to cash flow concerns. And I get it: When cash flow is tight, every penny matters. I often emphasize, "Yes, and... let's analyze the broader implications. What is the true cost of operating without an EA?" Consider the 2 hours you spend daily on administrative tasks like answering emails and updating your CRM. Imagine if you could allocate that time to sales and contract negotiations. What if those 2 extra hours enabled you to close a $100k contract in a single day? And what if you could replicate that success twice a month? This is the $200k question that needs answering.
"𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘐 𝘩𝘪𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘯 𝘌𝘹𝘦𝘤𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘈𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵?" I have received a few private messages from entrepreneurs with this question lately and I thought I would address it here. To answer that question: 𝙉𝙊𝙒 I recently watched an interview with Ryan Flint, broker over 4 Billion in commercial real estate, who discussed this head on. He was two years into his business and only making $130k and was terrified to hire an EA due to limited revenue. But he was drowning in tasks, appointments, and getting buried in the administration that was also draining his creative flow. He was encouraged to hire an EA and the hurdle was that required half of that revenue. 𝘎𝘶𝘭𝘱. She told him, "I got you. If I'm not making you that extra $60k a year, I'm not worth it." 𝘉𝘖𝘖𝘔. Because she alleviated the burden of administrative tasks, he was able to focus back in his business, and his company made $750k. His company has continued to grow and grow. Executive Assistants are your 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘶𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳. If you want to start hitting those revenue targets, start believing that they can do the things you hate - better. Focus your time back into marketing, sales, and client delivery. Go after it. We got you. -------------- Want to discuss more?
