🚀 2024 Restaurant Tech Map: Who’s In and Who’s Missing? The latest Brizo FoodMetrics 2024 Restaurant Tech Map showcases many innovative solutions, but where are the key players in the actual delivery space? 🧐 Key Observations: 🚗 Missing Delivery Players: Companies that ensure food reaches the customer like dlivrd and DeliverThat are notably absent, while non-delivery operations are featured. 📊 The critical role of delivery drivers and logistics companies is underrepresented, downplaying the importance of last-mile delivery. Simply having software and some integrations doesn't mean you understand the complexities of real-world delivery. 🥗 Catering is lumped with other categories despite its unique logistical challenges and large market cap of +$73B according to Cater, deserving dedicated focus. 🔍 Why It Matters: By not accurately representing delivery players and conflating catering with other categories, we risk underestimating the challenges in these areas. Finding these important players and their unique categories can help the industry come up with more workable solutions. #RestaurantTech #FoodDelivery #Logistics #Innovation #RestaurantIndustry #TechTrends #DeliveryEcosystem #Catering

Not only are key players missing, but companies that are out of business are also included.

Hi Christopher Heffernan, we appreciate your thoughts on the nuances of the industry! We'll definitely keep those in mind as we research and develop the next edition of the map. Meanwhile, a breakdown of the sub-categories that fall under each segment is available on our landing page: https://brizodata.com/en/brizo-restaurant-tech-map/ We've also noted the companies you've mentioned to add to our next release. Organizations can also submit their information at the bottom of the landing page to be included.

most surprising ommision: Wonder Most surprising to include: Canva (a general design tool) and @pexels stock photo site I see a few here that were acquired or went out of business. And the ‘Kitchen technologies’ section seems to be a mix of back of house, robotics, restaurants brands, consumer facing apps. a good list to find some hidden gems, but some missing for sure

This map makes me realize that apparently there's not as much consolidation of the tech space as I thought. SO many options out there! No wonder why emerging operators continue to be overwhelmed.
