Risky play, as a theory, isn't about throwing caution to the wind; it's about recognizing the value of calculated risks in a child's learning process. In this blog post, I will explore how intentional design in play environments can support this crucial element of child development. https://lnkd.in/gZZQiEWi #play, #loosepartsplay, #Risk, #risktaking, #loosepartsideas,

Psychological safety is all a buzz right now. It isn’t new. It was always important. We all just got better recently at recognising why it matters so much. Hubert agrees. “Hi, I’m Hubert. When there are thunderstorms, I need moral support to feel safe. Flamingo is my default. Then I go running to the humans!” More about this on the LB Learning Solutions page today. #Inclusion #Learning #PsychologicalSafety

Solution Focused Brief Therapy: SFBT focuses primarily on three things: Hopes/Desired Outcomes (what the mentee wants), Instances of Success (existing resources, strengths, and efforts), and Preferred Futures (rich descriptions of what the mentee’s hoped-for future would look like). Flint believes that this approach renews both confidence and vision; and in the words of one of our mentees, SFBT helps to “keep my eyes focused above the horizon, on the good things”. Developmental Relationships are close connections through which young people discover who they are, cultivate abilities to shape their own lives, and learn how to engage and contribute to the world around them. When young people experience these relationships in their families, schools, programs, and communities, they are more likely to be resilient in the face of challenges and grow up thriving. Before we break down each component, complete the, “What’s in a Developmental Relationship?” activity to learn more about Developmental Relationships and begin mapping them in your own life: https://lnkd.in/g7t86g77 #relationshipsmatter #developmentalrelationships #assetbuilders

RBLD 46 - BUILDING RESILIENCE: WHY OUR KIDS NEED TO FACE CHALLENGES In today’s reflection, I share the importance of rites of passage, particularly for boys, and how we, as parents, can ensure our children develop the resilience they need to navigate life’s challenges. From childhood to adolescence, it's crucial for our kids to experience failure, disappointment, and problem-solving. While girls may receive signals of maturity earlier, boys often lack this pivotal experience. We discuss the impact of sheltering our kids and why exposure to real-world situations helps them grow into resilient adults. It's important to ask ourselves - how we can help our children prepare for life by encouraging independence and growth, not shielding them from the inevitable challenges. ☮️💜☯️♾️ #ParentingJourney #ResilientKids #RitesOfPassage #LifeLessons #RaisingStrongChildren #MindsetMatters #PersonalGrowth #FamilyValues #ParentingWisdom #EveryDayIsFriday #DVNMND
