Polestar CEO steps down ⚡️ Thomas Ingenlath's resignation means Michael Lohscheller, former CEO of VinFast and Opel, has been appointed as the new CEO of Polestar, taking over from Thomas Ingenlath, effective October 1, 2024. Lohscheller brings extensive experience in the automotive and EV sectors, having previously led both VinFast and Nikola. With Polestar currently navigating a challenging EV market, Lohscheller’s leadership comes at a critical time. Polestar saw a 27% drop in vehicle sales during the first half of 2024, and revenue fell by 26%. The upcoming launches of the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 will be pivotal in shaping the company's future, especially as it faces increasing competition and newly introduced tariffs on Chinese-built electric vehicles. What are your thoughts on Polestar's future under Lohscheller's leadership? Is this the change the brand needs to steer its course? #polestar #ev #electriccars #electricvehicles #energy #netzero #sustainability #evcharging
The leadership changes regularly, I’ve seen people I know leave over the last six months. Hopefully the polestar 3 will change polestars fortunes as it looks awesome! 🤞

3moI do not think it will bring Polestar where it wants to be. The biggest problem is that they present cars that are not ready to deliver for years. People have simply “forgotten” that there is a Polestar 3 almost ready to deliver. It just takes too long. Same with the 4. The only Polestar you can buy now and really get is the Polestar 2 and that’s a 10 year old design from Volvo. Speaking of Volvo… same problem with the EX90. Could have been a massive succes but customers cancelling orders just because it takes almost 2 years since presenting the car (around the same time as the Polestar 3, little bit earlier) and still they are not ready for (mass) delivery.
