𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗳𝗮𝗸𝗲? That is what Microsoft is looking to credential... Microsoft is taking a stand against deepfakes and misinformation generated by AI with its new Content Integrity tools. The suite of tools includes "Content Credentials" that reveal the origin, creation details, AI involvement, and editing history of online content such as images, videos, or audio. The public will be able to see who created the content, when and where it was created, and if it was generated using AI. Originally built to support US political campaigns, Microsoft is expanding access to its tools to EU political parties, campaigners, and news organizations from around the world. The tools will give organizations control over their content, prevent the spread of deepfakes and misinformation generated by AI, and allow the public to trust that the content they see is authentic and genuine. Now if only the candidates could be credentialed for their roles... ⁉

56 support emails later, my Google ads are still disapproved because the automated crawl detected a malicious entity. The manual reviews always come back clean, and the ads are approved. Then, a day or two later, they are blocked again. 🤦♀️ This malicious entity must be a ghost! 👻 Because we just can't find anything wrong and they won't mention anything specific. And the Google ads support team gives me the same template or AI response 20 times in a row .. how wonderful! Did this happen to someone else as well? Does anyone know a solution? This has been a nightmare! 😣 This suddenly started happening a few months ago, but we didn't even change anything to our website or domain. #googleads #google

Using SEO-friendly URLs harms Google. One day, I am sure these will be leaked, too. These URLs were extracted from Google Leaks, originating from the DOJ Antitrust Lawsuit and the Google Content Warehouse API leak. While we can’t view the actual content of these URLs, the meaningful words within them allow us to infer the functions of these modules and documents. This shouldn’t be too complex, especially if you’ve reviewed the Google Leaks (which I assume you have, given your background in SEO).

Leading tech companies, including Microsoft, Meta, Google, Amazon, Adobe, and IBM, have taken a significant step towards safeguarding the integrity of elections and protecting democracy. At the Munich Security Conference, these companies, along with others such as AI startups and social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter), TikTok, and Snap, pledged to adopt a common framework to detect and label misleading political deepfakes on their platforms. This voluntary pledge to combat election-related deepfakes is a clear recognition of the need for collective action to protect elections from electoral abuse. While critics view the accord as toothless, the companies aim to share best practices and respond swiftly when deepfakes begin to spread, paying special attention to context to safeguard freedom of expression. Despite efforts by federal agencies and some states to combat the spread of deepfakes, they continue to proliferate, raising concerns among Americans about the spread of misleading information during the 2024 U.S. election cycle. However, the EU is also implementing measures to address deepfakes, including clear labeling requirements under the AI Act and regulations within the Digital Services Act. It's heartening to see tech giants coming together to fight the menace of deepfakes. With their collective expertise and resources, they can make a significant difference in safeguarding the integrity of elections and protecting democracy. https://lnkd.in/gJ6vxra5

I am so proud to be part of an amazing team at Google..... Google recently launched the Ads Safety Report summarising the actions we took last year to combat fraudulent ads on our platform. 2023 marked a huge technology shift with the introduction of widely available generative #AI tools that allowed us to take a major leap in our enforcement efforts. Our teams are embracing this transformative technology, specifically Large Language Models (LLMs), so that we can better keep people safe online. At a high-level, in 2023: 1️⃣ We blocked or removed over 5.5 billion ads for violating our policies. That's more than 9,000 ads per minute. 2️⃣ We suspended more than 12.7 million advertiser accounts for egregious policy violations, nearly double the amount we suspended in 2022. 3️⃣ We removed ads from over 2.1 billion pages last year. 4️⃣ We added or updated 31 policies for both advertisers and publishers. In a year with several major elections around the world, we want to make sure voters continue to trust the election ads they may see on our platforms – that’s why we have long-standing identity verification and transparency requirements for election advertisers. In 2023, we verified more than 5,000 new election advertisers and removed more than 7.3 million election ads that came from advertisers who did not complete verification. Have a read of the blog post for more details on how we’re keeping the ads ecosystem safe for advertisers, publishers and users. ⬇️ goo.gle/ads-safety-report #AdsSafetyReport
