Celebrating #BCorp at Domaine Bousquet! 🌎 🍷 March is here and so is B Corp Month! But what exactly is B Corp Certification, and what does it look like at Domaine Bousquet? 🌎 What is B Corp? Domaine Bousquet joined the B Corp community in 2022, along with 5,000 other companies committed to making a positive impact on people, communities, and the planet. B Corp is more than a certification, it's a dedication to a more inclusive and sustainable global economy. 🔄 360-degree sustainability: our commitment to working sustainably goes beyond the vineyards. We undergo a rigorous online impact assessment, measuring our social and environmental performance against strict B Corp standards. This assessment is not a one-off task; it's an ongoing quest for improvement. This month, we'll be sharing insights into our journey as a B Corp, including our sustainability initiatives and our plans for future growth. We're proud to be part of a global community that believes in perpetual progress and positive impact! #DomaineBousquet #RegenerativeOrganic

🎉 Denmark has officially reached 100 certified B Corp companies, and we are proud of being part of this community! 🌱 Back in 2021, we were only the 30th certified B Corp in Denmark. Now the B-team has more than tripled in size. 💚 The B Corp certification is great because it takes a holistic approach to being a more responsible company - rather than certifying specifics on individual products. It is not enough to use recycled plastic on some of your packaging or that one of your products is organic. To achieve the B Corp certification the company as a whole must excel in 5 categories: Environment, Community, Workers, Governance and Customers. Every three years you have to get recertified - which means that we are working on our recertification as we speak. This is a great opportunity to take a critical look at your business and ask yourself a lot of hard and important questions. A big congratulations to Danish B Corp newcomers: Birger Christensen Collective , Sing Tehus , Brøchner Hotels and many more! Together, we’re driving change and creating lasting impact. ☕🌍 #BCorp #CleverCoffee #ResponsibleBusiness #Impact B Lab Nordics

All the sustainable conferences have a start-up competition of some kind, but Blue Earth's appears to be one that actually delivers results (not just some content for the organisers). Here's our application, warts and all! // What distinguishes your product or service from existing market offerings? // Evrythng.cc, launched in June 2024, is a global framework for FMCG producers where 100% of profits fund nature-based climate solutions. 100% for the planet! We believe that small sustainable improvements from producers, whilst clearly important, are not enough to solve the climate emergency. We are changing the capitalist system so that the profit created from the stuff we love to buy is used to fund nature-based solutions. Changing the entirety of such a system is hard so we just focus on the final stage — the creation of profit and wealth. Our model, with products already in the market, has three steps: 1) We outsource production to ethical suppliers to keep start-up and ongoing capital costs low. 2) We sell them at a fair price and pay ourselves a fair but capped wage. Evrythng businesses will never be for sale, there are no profit-based investors and we operate an open accounts system for radical transparency (anyone can log in to our Xero and track every penny in real-time). 3) Then, 100% of the profits are redirected to organisations running climate, nature and environment protection schemes. From day one and forever. Let's hack capitalism to unlock climate funding on a global scale! // In what ways does your business contribute positively to environmental sustainability? // The global alcohol industry made $254bn of net profit in 2022 alone. Add in chocolate, coffee, olive oil and beyond and we are soon into the trillions. Our model allows us to redirect a portion of that so that it funds nature-based climate solutions from day one - not some indeterminate date in the future. Starting with alcohol in the UK (as that is our domain) we will quickly move to other FMCG categories in multiple territories by open-sourcing the framework. We have the bold target of creating £500m of funding by 2030, a figure we can reach with the right support from the sustainability ecosystem. Can we stand on the shoulders of giants and progress beyond B Corp? // Explain how your business solutions are commercially viable // By using the outsourcing power-play of Apple and Nike et al and by using the domain knowledge built up through decades of product development in the FMCG space, we can create products with great market fit very efficiently. The rum, gin and vodka you see at https://evrythng.cc/ cost £15k to launch and is already generating profit after 10 weeks from launch. By having a truly commercial not-for-profit model, we create clear water around the brand. There's a vacuum of consumers actively searching for products that really make a difference and they are drawn to us without the need for major marketing budgets.

Without nature there would be no #whisky (and where would we all be without whisky?). Today, on #earthday, read our latest blog on #sustainability in the whisky industry and the potential of #whiskycaskinvestment to deliver profits while helping to protect the planet. "Today, the true value of any investment can be calculated not only on returns, but on the impact our choices have on the environment. A new generation of investors are building their portfolios through an environmental and socially ethical perspective, with 95% of millennials now saying that sustainability was an important factor in deciding where to invest. Given its reliance on natural resources (like spring water, barley and wood) perhaps it’s unsurprising that the Scotch whisky industry is making progress to work in harmony with its surroundings, building up sustainable practices as an inseparable feature of producing the world’s best whisky. The good news is that the whisky industry is making a conscious effort to take responsibility in the race towards Net Zero, with ambitious targets affecting every stage of the manufacturing process. In 2009, the SWA (Scotch Whisky Association) launched its Environmental Strategy, the first of its kind to cover an entire sector, with voluntary targets for water, use of non-fossil fuels and energy efficiency, packaging and sourcing of sustainably produced casks. Now, as the urgency of the issue is increasing and governments around the world are committing themselves to their own net zero targets, the Scottish Whisky industry has decided to aim for an ambitious plan of reaching net zero by 2040, a full ten years before the overall objective for the rest of the UK economy..." There are only 2 days left and this is important. I've had differing opinions on the importance of awards in Brewing. How many times have you seen some seriously suspect winners of beer awards? Then you start to follow the money, and all credibility of the awards go out the window. But these awards are different. Truly independent, voted for by truly impartial and independent judges motivated entirely by awarding the correct brewery with the correct award. Here are some of the key categories 🏭 Brewery of The Year 👩🏭👨🏭 Brewer (and Young Brewer) of The Year 🌱 Sustainability Champion of The Year Voting takes less than 2 minutes and it's your chance to make people's years. Let's celebrate the industry's best. https://lnkd.in/efibUTc4

Sustainability is key to meeting today's needs without jeopardising the ability of future generations to do the same. This #EarthDay, we are highlighting the strides the Whisky Industry is making to be more sustainable 🌍 Key achievements include: ☁️ 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions since 2008 🔋 40% of energy sourced from renewable sources 💡 13% improved energy efficiency in distilleries in 2023 💧 22% increase in water efficiency since 2012 As we look for new ways to build investment portfolios in more sustainable ways, whisky casks can offer a solution. Although today is a great day to highlight the importance of our amazing planet, in the Whisky Industry, everyday is Earth Day 🥃💚
