Since I’m new to the medical coding and billing world, I didn’t know there were podcasts that offered helpful tips for this career. Sometimes I don’t have time to just sit and listen, but I can while I’m driving, cooking, or cleaning! Looking forward to catching up on these podcasts episodes. Thank you Terry.

There was a point in this podcast I found very interesting. The importance of watching the language used when documenting in a patient chart. I appreciate the example given about the difference in writing how a patient refused a vaccine compared to declining the vaccine. The word refused has a negative connotation where it sounds like the patient refused medical advice, but that could have not been the case. They could’ve just declined the vaccine or medication because they don’t need it for the meantime. Being aware that patients can have access to their medical charts and when they find something they don’t like, it can lead to unwanted confrontations or lawsuits. Very interesting.
