In the crazy busy world of today, where there is such little time to spend with colleagues outside of work tasks, quality moments of connection like this are truly meaningful and treasured. #teambuilding #teambuildingwithpurpose #corporatevolunteering Claire #charityevent #teambuildingevent #teambonding Kathleen Dan Tessa ANZ

🌊 Turning Tension into Teamwork 🐬 When a new manager stepped in to lead a volunteer-run community organisation, change was in the air—and not everyone was on board. The volunteers, who had run things their way for years, suddenly found their routines disrupted. Frustrations grew, and some volunteers even questioned their future with the organisation. The new manager, sensing the tension, reached out for help in bridging the gap with the team. That’s where Voluntas stepped in. We organised a facilitated meeting at a local surf club, providing a safe and respectful space for the volunteers to share their concerns openly. Before the conversation began, Voluntas set clear ground rules on how the meeting would run, including guidelines on respectful behaviour from all participants. The manager listened with respect, acknowledging the volunteers’ commitment and expertise, while explaining why changes were necessary for the organisation's sustainability. This honest conversation turned tension into relief, and by the end, both sides agreed to work together on a new set of procedures that valued everyone’s input. As they left the meeting, a pod of dolphins appeared, dancing in the waves—a moment that the group took as a perfect symbol of harmony restored. 🐬 At Voluntas, we know that leadership transitions can be challenging for volunteer organisations. But with the right support, these transitions can strengthen, rather than strain, your team. 🔗 Learn more about how we support volunteer teams: www.voluntas.com.au #VolunteerManagement #ConflictResolution #CommunitySupport #Collaboration #Philanthropy

I’ve been reflecting a lot on Volunteer week, the theme of which this year is “Uniquely us”. Nothing makes the point better than reading the posts from other people about what voluntary things they do in their spare time – some surprising, some obvious, some well-suited, some totally off the wall. The same when reflecting on my own experiences of volunteering – · At a Saturday night soup kitchen · As a Samaritan, back In the day · With the National Trust · Mentoring for Lean in Leeds and The Coaching Academy · As a human rights lawyer on Jamaican Death Row. My upcoming online course, Workplace Wellbeing: 7 Steps to Wellness Success, also touches on the importance of volunteering. It’s well documented that Scientists believe altruistic behaviour, “giving back”, releases endorphins in the brain, producing the positive feeling known as the “helper's high.” I can relate. And it’s not just altruism either, as you can also grow personally too: · Gaining a sense of perspective and gratitude · understanding the importance of the provision of accessible mental health services; · working as part of a team doing hard manual labour · sharing professional experiences to further develop as a coach · doing a piece of work pro-bono so profoundly affecting that it changed the entire course of my career What do you do to give back? What have you found to be the benefits both to the people you serve but also for your own personal growth? Do you recommend it? To find out more about the course, why not join the free introductory webinar 12.15-1pm Tue 2nd July. Link in comments section below. May be you’ll be inspired around the value of volunteering too. #volunteerweek #volunteering #volunteer #helpershigh #giveback #givingback

Hear from OneAnother amazing co-founder Lisa Hollinshead on our journey helping Corporate Australia mobilise their volunteering days. Currently, only 15% of employee volunteering hours are utilised. Leaving a HUGE opportunity to work with our customers to help them achieve 100% volunteering rates. A typical question we get is, WHY would a company want to utilise their full volunteering days? The answer is simple.... Employees that "do good, feel good" Working with OneAnother we use tech to measure the impact volunteering has on employee wellness and productivity to demonstrate the business ROI. Not to mention the next-gen will only work with companies that have a solid engrained CSR program. Are you looking to support your employees volunteering journeys and for ways to increase happiness? The dream team out in Canary Wharf last night🤩 Company culture isn’t just a buzzword – it’s the foundation of a thriving workplace. When you foster an environment of collaboration, trust, and shared values, you empower your team to bring their best selves to work every day. Great culture isn’t built overnight, we’ve worked hard for over 20 years through intentional actions and a commitment to supporting each other, to create a space where everyone grows and succeeds together. There is still no prize for this kind of bingo 🏆 When I’m speaking to groups on my topic of leading more by doing less, we play “unpaid workload bingo.” It’s a chance to illuminate how many unpaid, non-promotable tasks women tend to take on at the office that keep them stuck in unstrategic work and overwhelmed. If you have an unpaid office workload bingo, you’re not alone. According to an HBR article, women received 44% more requests to volunteer at work than men. Many of these requests were for non-promotable tasks - those that benefit the organization (like party planning, volunteering or leading extra committees, etc) but likely don’t contribute to someone’s performance evaluation and career advancement. It’s hard to build sustainable confidence if you are overworked and overwhelmed. ✏️ Here’s a script to say no collaboratively: “Thank you for thinking of me for ________. Right now I am committed to completing/spending my time in ________ so I am unable to accommodate this right now. I'd be happy to chat with you about who else might be excited to take this on.” ➡️ Try this: Look back at your last 30-60 days and note what’s draining you. What can you dump, delegate or outsource? #nomorebingos #womenleaders #careers #confidence #leadershipdevelopment #burnout

UNLIMITED social impact time off. We're redefining the way companies engage with their communities -- starting at home. While traditional VTO (volunteer time off) has its strengths, #SITO broadens its impact, enriching both our team members' lives and the communities we serve. It's about reciprocity; contributing but also benefitting in return. Imagine spending your SITO delving into vital community topics or joining a yoga class led by an instructor who supports survivors of domestic violence. These experiences aren't just about volunteering – they're about actively engaging with the community, gaining profound insights, and making a meaningful impact. At @Visit.org, we're proud to pioneer SITO, empowering companies to make a real difference while fostering personal and professional growth. Let's transform our teams and communities together. #SocialImpact #CSR #EmployeeEngagement #CommunityImpact
