The Indian Army today took delivery of Nagastra-1 loitering munition. A loitering munition is part UAV and part missile and is also known as a Kamikaze or suicide drone. Once launched, it flies or loiters over an area, like an eagle hunting for its prey. It flies silently like a raptor, its electric motors making it virtually undetectable. It can be controlled by an operator from as far as 15 km, and once it spot a target, like lightning, it comes crashing down to fall on its prey. Its 1 kg warhead makes quick work of its target. The lightweight 9 kg drone can take out a target as far as 30 km away once it is fed with the coordinates of its target. The drone is most useful against fleeting targets due to its less reaction time. If the drone is not able to detect an target, then it can be safely recovered via an inbuilt parachute. #IndianArmy #SolarGroup #Nagastra #KamikazeDrone #IndianArmedForces Indian Army Solar Industries India Limited hqids india Ministry of Defence of India Nitin A. Certainly the #drone advancement and tech has grown by leaps and bounds and with the amalgamation of #GenAI integrates into modern drone systems the sky is literally the limit , however one area where #defence and #indianarmedforces have to concentrate is the clear and present danger of rogue drones and that is where #antidrone systems have to get more visibility and mileage

Drones to replace fighter jets in future wars, Musk says At the end of September, Elon Musk predicted battles between "drone swarms" in the future NEW YORK, November 27/ US billionaire and entrepreneur Elon Musk thinks that unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) will replace piloted fighter jets in future armed conflicts. "Future wars are all about drones & hypersonic missiles. Fighter jets piloted by humans will be destroyed very quickly," he wrote on the X social network. At the end of September, Musk predicted battles between "drone swarms" in the future. Additionally, earlier, he criticized fifth-generation F-35 fighter jets saying they are cost-prohibitive and outdated due to the emergence of unmanned technologies. #business #finance #financialservices

Have our armed forces managed to catch up with the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in the realm of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)? While the numerical gap has certainly been reduced, we need significant catching up in terms of their effectiveness as a force multiplier. An excellent analysis by Lt Gen H S Panag PVSM, AVSM (Retd)

The market for Defence Drones in India is really very interesting, some of the operational requirements are so unique that the required versions do not exist anywhere else on the globe.

Ukraine has demonstrated how effective cheap #attritable #drone systems can be in asymmetric combat, and has offered a terrifying glimpse into the future of war. As we have seen recently in the Middle east, strategists around the world, both friendly and unfriendly, are taking notes. The speed of #allied #procurement and application of inexpensive #UAVs, #USVs, and #UUVs will likely determine whether we can deter those who wish to overturn the current "rules-based global order" or not... The new study below by Austin Gray outlines the changing trends to the U.S. procurement budget and spend for #uncrewed & #autonomoussystems and the related #opportunities for companies moving forward. https://lnkd.in/dKPPjsZw Mica Imamura, Frank Clark, Bernice Glenn Kissinger, Jeremy Knopp, Guy Boekenstein, Masahiko Kuwabara, Kristian Ryan, Kazutaka Yomogita

We need to massively shift our military focus to drone and anti-drone strategy and tactics. Assets like aircraft carriers and F-35s are about to be dangerously bad bets because of how expensive and vulnerable they are to drone swarms. The game is about to change completely. And soldiers on the battlefield will change as well, because the game will be fielding massive numbers of drones of different sorts. Does it mean human soldiers won’t still be used, but they will not be the majority of what is fielded. We need to be watching Chinese drone tech extremely closely and out-innovating them in this new domain.

𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲 #𝟭: 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗱-𝗨𝗻𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗮 𝗢𝗦 Last week, we introduced Mithra OS, the AI-powered operating system transforming military vehicles into intelligent, autonomous, and connected systems. Mithra enables us to rapidly digitize military systems and make them software-capable, allowing for the seamless deployment of proprietary or third-party software and AI modules. Today, we’re excited to share the first of many use cases enabled by this groundbreaking technology: 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗱-𝗨𝗻𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 and “𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗺𝗮𝗻” 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀. On the modern battlefield, collaboration is key—not just among soldiers but also between vehicles and drones. With Mithra OS, legacy fleets are no longer just vehicles; they become 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀, capable of operating alongside human crews to multiply their capabilities or functioning autonomously in unmanned-unmanned teams. Mithra OS isn’t just about technology—it’s about redefining how we approach defense modernization. Special thanks to our partners ACS Armoured Car Systems, Quantum Systems and UXS Alliance , Hentschel System GmbH, Silvus Technologies and VEHICO GMBH. #DefenceInnovation #MithraOS #AutonomousVehicles #MilitaryModernization
