The Indian Army today took delivery of Nagastra-1 loitering munition. A loitering munition is part UAV and part missile and is also known as a Kamikaze or suicide drone. Once launched, it flies or loiters over an area, like an eagle hunting for its prey. It flies silently like a raptor, its electric motors making it virtually undetectable. It can be controlled by an operator from as far as 15 km, and once it spot a target, like lightning, it comes crashing down to fall on its prey. Its 1 kg warhead makes quick work of its target. The lightweight 9 kg drone can take out a target as far as 30 km away once it is fed with the coordinates of its target. The drone is most useful against fleeting targets due to its less reaction time. If the drone is not able to detect an target, then it can be safely recovered via an inbuilt parachute. #IndianArmy #SolarGroup #Nagastra #KamikazeDrone #IndianArmedForces Indian Army Solar Industries India Limited hqids india Ministry of Defence of India Nitin A. insideFPV.com Drones have been getting enormous engagement in the Indian Military as smart training of these small UAS will be squared over time. Drones are taking flight in the Indian Army. The awareness of these agile UAS is skyrocketing due to their unique capabilities: Unjammable Speed: Lightning-fast at 250+kmph, they outpace jamming attempts along with its miniature size to followup on ISTAR. Extended Range: Covering vast areas with an 11+km reach, they provide superior situational awareness. Pinpoint Accuracy: Delivering precise data and visuals for decisive action. insideFPV.com is revolutionizing military drone technology at quite a pace. #dronetechnology #defencetechnology #defencetech #sharktanksuccess #sharktankindia #speedandagility #rangefinder #smarttraining

#defense - what india needs we have plat form. ready to deploy war \civilian ready drones \ evtols. loitering munition… jet engine powered UAV. MTOW 76kg, warhead . Max speed 650km/h, max construction speed 900km/h, ceiling 5,000m, 1hour fly time (can be extended by additional fuel tank to 1,5h). It could be used also like reconnaissance drones or even transport drones to deliver cargo up to 24kg. Or to release explosives and return. Very low radar and acoustic footprint. Gliding when reaching the operational area will minimise even heat signatures to avoid IR seeking missiles.

Certainly the #drone advancement and tech has grown by leaps and bounds and with the amalgamation of #GenAI integrates into modern drone systems the sky is literally the limit , however one area where #defence and #indianarmedforces have to concentrate is the clear and present danger of rogue drones and that is where #antidrone systems have to get more visibility and mileage

Recent firmware updates from DJI Enterprise now restrict the use of their drones in Russia. While some might argue that this move aims to prevent the use of DJI drones in the Ukraine conflict, it's important to note that the Russian military is utilizing cracked firmware, rendering this restriction ineffective in that context. However, this limitation significantly impacts drone businesses and complicates the work of drone operators. #DJI #dronelife #droneoperator #russia

The Indian Army has just taken a massive leap forward in modernizing its logistical capabilities. They've received the cutting-edge Sabal 20 logistics drone from EndureAir, an Indian UAV manufacturer ¹. This drone is specifically designed to tackle challenging terrains and high-altitude operations, making it perfect for streamlining supply chains in the Eastern theatre of operations. The Sabal 20 drone boasts some impressive features, including a tandem rotor system, variable pitch technology, and a payload capacity of up to 20 kg ¹. It's also equipped with stealth technology, making it harder to detect by radar. Plus, its VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) capability allows it to operate in small or difficult spaces. This development is a significant step towards enhancing the Indian Army's logistical capabilities, especially in remote and challenging areas ². The Sabal 20 drone is set to play a crucial role in supporting military operations and improving overall efficiency. credit- botsanddrones .in . . . #drone #news #army #development #new #change #ops

Way to go India. Not sure if this is a laugh or cry moment. The Government knowingly already award 90% of grant cash to those who are importing Chinese 🇨🇳 drone kits from AliBaba, and call it “Made In India”, however this one takes first prize. I’m not sure what I love the most about this latest thing. Maybe it’s the Kindergarten painted joke fuselage, the nailed in propellers / sticks that are attached to wooden blocks pretending to be engines. Maybe it’s the wing that will snap like a twig if loaded or the fact it has none, or in the case of the tail insufficient sized control surfaces. Seriously Government of India Official , when are you going to realise that this Mickey Mouse news has to stop. “By the next three months, we should be able to get it to the Centre for Military Airworthiness & Certification (CEMILAC) and get the certification done. Once the certification is done we will be ready to induct this into the forces. Our aim is to sell it to other countries like African and South East Asian countries as well which cannot $32 billion Predator UAVs but can buy $3 billion Indian products,” Tejaskanda said.🤷🏽♂️ The Times Of India Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay Indian Times Daily INDIA NOW #india #drone #dumb

“Another aspect of the earlier ALTIUS-600 that will presumably ported over to the ALTIUS-700M is the potential to have multiple assets operate together as a networked swarm. The U.S. Army, in particular, has been testing just such concepts, with the ALTIUS series offering the possibility of having swarms of drones in multiple configurations, which could then be cooperatively tasked to perform various tasks. The ALTIUS-600 has already been demonstrated in networked swarms, with the U.S. Army in 2022 launching four waves of seven ALTIUS-600 drones in what was, at the time, the largest networked sortie of Air-Launched Effects (ALE) drones of its kind up. Once again, a single operator was able to control the swarm of drones as they hunted for and destroyed simulated enemy positions ahead. You can read our previous analysis of that trial here and here.”
