🦁 The Sustainable Campaigns at Cannes Lions Festival 2024 felt to me like a category where the commitment to meaningful impact felt missing 🤷🏻♀️ 🚗 Renault was awarded the Grand Prix for the Sustainable Development Goals for their excellent Cars to Work campaign, which offered the free use of cars to unemployed people in France who had no way of getting to job interviews. (watch the campaign video: https://t.ly/D_33u) The project was specifically designed to aid people who live in ‘mobility deserts’, areas with low accessibility to public transportation. The cars remained free for people to use during their trial period at any job they landed. Once the job was secured customers could start to pay for the vehicles under affordable conditions. Apparently 6,000 people in France participated - which is laudable. But we need to see more work like this, and bigger aspirations from brands looking to create meaningful outcomes. Most noticeably for me, is there were no winners from APAC. Which begs the question. When genuinely impactful sustainable initiatives require broader investment and longer term thinking - are clients and agencies still willing to do the work? Let's hope that after the hangover from all those Greenwashing campaigns of the past, we can turn to Greenproofing - where we embrace the harder and more rewarding work that creates real impact and change. 💪🏻 That's what I'd like to see in 2025. UEFA’s Champions Innovate gives sustainability chance to shine UEFA’s Champions Innovate recently allowed a trio of sustainability organisations to gain exposure on club football’s biggest stage. The governing body utilised the global reach of its men’s Champions League, a flagship event in club football, to elevate #sustainability. Months of research was undertaken to find ways of making the Champions League final more sustainable, ahead of this year’s decider on June 1 between eventual champions Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund. It resulted in three Champions Innovate finalist start-ups – Pavegen, My Emissions, and Pledgeball – with each presenting their projects to a judging panel at a showcase event in London City Hall prior to the match at Wembley Stadium. Champions Innovate brought together UEFA, commercial partners, the host city of London, and start-up companies. The latter were tasked with finding innovative solutions to sustainability challenges. After being narrowed down from a pool of 100, the three were paired with a Champions League sponsor in the form of PepsiCo’s Rockstar Energy Drink, Just Eat Takeaway.com, and Mastercard. “UEFA’s sustainability drive definitely gives us a platform to work on things like Champions Innovate,” PepsiCo vice-president Bart LaCount told Global Sustainable Sport. After the 1st day participating in the IMPACT FESTIVAL here in Frankfurt has been a profound positive and inspiring experience. With so many inspiring sessions and workshops, each one left me feeling overwhelmed yet incredibly hopeful for the future. It’s remarkable to witness so many people committed to driving change, innovation and sustainability. Among all the impressive contributions, I was particularly moved by the presentation from Carlos Alvarez Pereira truly inspiring and insightful. His words resonated deeply with everyone present, sparking a renewed sense of purpose and urgency. Equally powerful was a quote from 🦜 Laila Martins : “To love and do nothing is the same as not loving.” This sentiment captures what many of us in sustainability have come to realize: talking about change is no longer enough. We must act, and we must do it together. It’s time to put our egos aside, foster partnerships, and build a community of like-minded people. Only by working collectively can we transform long-standing linear business models into circular ones. Together, we have the power to change the status quo. María Florencia Hoffmann this festival is far more than a local event; it’s truly a world-class gathering. This is where players from all sectors, from all parts of the world should come together, building and scaling up real, sustainable innovations that can impact global systems. Can’t wait for day 2!!!

In my professional career, I've been fortunate to contribute to numerous projects, product launches, website creations, brand strategies, marketing plans, etc. And even though I am a person who always gives her best, naturally, some projects resonate more deeply with me, aligning with my personal values. One of those projects is the one I am currently working on, Planet Positive Event as a part of TOLERANCA MARKETING.🌍✨ When I was writing my master's thesis, my biggest goal was to include the topic of sustainability in a domain that sparked my interests- gamification. It was a defining moment that opened my eyes to the universal importance of sustainability, which belongs both to all business and personal aspects of our lives. Planet Positive Event will measure the sustainability of events, including but not limited to CO2 emissions. And when I say events, I mean all types of events: team buildings, conferences, festivals, concerts, and much more. It's a tool first of its kind, and it's rewarding being on the PPE team.🏆 #Sustainability #PlanetPositiveEvent #eventprofs #digitalmarketing https://lnkd.in/e9r35mWP
