Today we joined the community of Hayle in protest of South West Water. Their pollution-for-profit business model and lack of transparency make us sick. They are putting people's health and the health of our seas at risk. 🤮💩 We demand SWW cut the crap. And we demand that the government remove the Bailouts provision from the Water (Special Measures) Bill due to be passed through Parliament very soon. You can help make sure that billpayers and taxpayers don't have to pay off water company debts and shareholders by joining our calls and signing the petition: https://lnkd.in/ec2RUg8V #BanTheBailouts #EndSewagePollution #OceanActivists

Whilst well meaning I fear the actions of this is kind of TV Socail media can be a positive force and powerful voice for change…… I’ve been saying it for a long time. Water companies need to embrace digitalisation as a positive means to mitigate against events and engage with customers…. Trustworthy data can empower a water company and build trust. Sewage is only the start….. some people will soon start to question the quality and health of what comes out of the tap in favor of plastic bottled water. We are maybe one or two bad headlines away from UK water sector business model shift. Again if this clip is anything to judge people may collectively stop paying for water they don’t believe is safe! Is that even possible?…. Well ask the same group of people if they trust thier water company with regard to tap water quality?….. with the current levels of negative media coverage I suggest the answer is no!…. Despite the evidence suggesting there is nothing wrong. EDM, river water quality, network water quality, pressure and leakage management ….. they are all part of big data smart water and how we can use it in a positive way.

90% of people are apparently prepared to withhold payment of the element of their water bills that relate to sewage disposal……………..are you? Are you prepared to join a collective meaningful action of activism against the water companies to help to solve the sewage crisis? The Government and it’s Regulators are clearly not going to, could people power deliver the change that’s needed? Let me know……….. #sewagescandal #sickofsewage

Just bring all these criminals to justice now. Water companies have been flooding our seas and rivers with raw sewage - and getting away with it. Clean up the mess we’re in and stop them getting away with it any longer! After years of water firms dumping BILLIONS OF LITRES of raw sewage into our rivers, seas and streams - while raking in the profits - we're all pretty sick of it. But with an election coming this year, there’s a chance to change all that. The next Government should fine water firms by taking their shares, not just their bonuses and profits. That way, we, the public, will gain a stake in the companies and a say in their decisions. And if they still fail to clean up their act, politicians must agree to renationalise these firms and their profits. Let’s clean up the mess once and for all! https://lnkd.in/e2FFuJmx

We have almost 90% honest people, but unfortunately, the 10% dishonest are failing us. Due to these 10%, we are facing pothole-ridden roads, overcrowded public transport, broken public hospitals, polluted air, and contaminated water. #community #honesty #publicservices #environmentalhealth #Administration #Polity #Governance

WE URGENTLY NEED YOUR HELP! (SIGN & SHARE) Today, we launch 'Ban the Bailouts' to force the government to amend the Water (Special Measures) Bill. Will you sign our petition today? https://lnkd.in/eVfYAYsY Because there's a huge risk that this new law, which is passing through parliament right now, will leave billpayers and taxpayers on the hook for paying off water company debts and shareholders. 😲🤬 We're working non-stop behind the scenes to persuade Keir Starmer to amend this fundamentally flawed bill, but we need to show that the public demand this change too! #surfersagainstsewage #endsewagepollution #saveourseas #sewagepollution

“…pumps operated for six hours at nearly 500 litres per second - dumping more than 10 million litres of raw sewage into the middle of the lake.” This makes my blood boil. As a regular wild swimmer and fisherman, the idea that water companies across the country are dumping raw sewage into Britain’s most precious waterways makes me sick (and not just metaphorically). This must stop immediately. Government must act now - it has been going on far too long. The private companies polluting Britain’s waterways must be held to account through massive fines and punitive sanctions. Period. Time for The Environment Agency to get a grip. Rishi Sunak this is a vote winner, which the Conservatives desperately need right now. #stopwaterpollutionnow

Non-competes matter a lot to #governmentcontractors. Upshots: (1) non-competes are enforceable until further notice, and (2) will be enforceable in the sale of a business.
Attached is GT's alert concerning the FTC's vote to ban noncompete clauses. Here are my personal "hot takes": -if the rule does go into effect as written (big if) it will not be for at least 120 days -nothing changed overnight, noncompetes are still enforceable and employers can still have employees execute them -the final rule will be subject to numerous legal challenges, including litigation by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce -the rule is VERY broad and would serve as a ban on all employment related non-competes (there is a sale of business exception however!)

The cost of #pollutingforprofit is about to get much higher if the water companies get their way and Ofwat acquiesces to their demands, please bear in mind that this will now be a decision taken post election, so push your prospective parliamentary candidates in respect of what they will personally be committing to in this respect! #waterscandal #sewagescandal
