Thailand’s old-age dependency ratio, defined as the number of persons aged 65 and over relative to the 20–64 years old population, is projected to increase rapidly over the coming years. A diaper maker in ageing Japan is switching gears and focusing on adult diapers, as demand for baby products slows down due to smaller family sizes in Indonesia. The company will continue to produce baby product lines at its overseas facilities, but is also aiming to increase sales in growing Indonesian market. While demand for baby products is still strong in the foreseeable future (with the steady trend for smaller Indonesian families -one generation, I think) , adult-care related products are on the rise, with limited options and single-digit market penetration.
