The first impression. Do you have a checklist for it? Here’s 5 questions to ask yourself to help set up your checklist. At #prvnhq we have a checklist for what we want a drop in or potential members to experience their first time coming into the gym. 1) How are they greeted upon arrival ? 2) What do you have them do if they are really early ? 3) How will you introduce them to the community? 4) What do you want them to be thinking when they leave? 5) How do you say bye when they leave?

Comparison of some of the similarities between the rehabilitative team versus the sports performance team regarding how an individual can transition from being a patient to an athlete and vice versa. Obvious differences exist between the professions as well, but the point remains strength coaches and sports physical therapists exist on two ends of the same spectrum. The patient is in the middle of this spectrum. Neither of these professions should forget this fact. Be open to collaborating and learning from one another! P.S. Are you interested in obtaining all your continuing education hours for this license renewal period as a PT or PTA while learning the most up-to date and in-depth applied ACL rehabilitation concepts? Would you do this for your clients? On the weekend I attended the Christmas function hosted by Vision PT-Penrith, the gym I go to 5 or 6 days a week. It was barefoot bowls (outdoor) at Penrith Bowling & Recreation Club. There was probably 20 clients there plus some partners. There was ample finger foods provided along with plenty of finger food and beverages. Not only was it a fun event, it was great to see people in non-gym gear, meet their partners and just "shoot the breeze", I was amazed/surprised everything was covered by Vision PT-Penrith. I had gone along expecting to pay for my food and drinks and something towards the cost of the activity. After all it was my gym (a more personal service gym not a 24-hour behemoth), so not a large business. Adding this to my overall experience since I joined in late June, certainly built on my intention to remain client. The owner, Chris Gross, and his team of trainers, take time to get to know us, our goals and things which may be going on in our personal lives that may impact our training. They care! Everyone (trainers and clients) greets you by name and say "good-bye" as we come and go. A group of us (everyone is welcome) go for coffee & a bit to eat (don't tell the trainers about the raisin toast) after our Saturday morning session. Each month they run a seminar about all sorts of topic, not just on fitness and eating, but on things related to mind, body and soul. The Vision PT-Penrith team have built a true community. Sure it may be small but in today's world your customers are looking for a "sense of community". Such communities can have a massive impact on the success of the business. They create very loyal customers because it is no longer just about the product or the service. Are you building a sense of community with your customers/clients? Please share ideas, and what has and has not worked.
