Studio 99 is a fitness centre for every body. Established for 12 years in Brisbane’s vibrant and diverse West End community, Studio 99 has outgrown its space twice. From PT gym with three trainers to its current premises – a 1,000sqm dedicated fitness centre with 14 specialised trainers and more than 400 clients.

  • One of the most common messages we hear from fitness professionals is that in order to maintain your motivation you need to "find your why" to really "understand what it means to you". This is true but it skips over one critical part of goal setting. The HOW! Imagine wanting to go on a road trip, you might know the general direction of the destination you want to go but the person who has a map, with landmarks along the way, is going to get there a lot faster than the person who just wings it. Today, we dive into the transformative concept of goal setting in exercise, exploring the significance of both process goals and outcome goals in maximizing your fitness journey. Understanding the Basics: Goal Setting in Exercise Setting goals is not just about defining a destination; it's about designing a roadmap that guides every step of your fitness expedition. In the realm of exercise, goals serve as beacons of motivation, propelling us forward, pushing our limits, and shaping our achievements. Whether you're a fitness novice or a seasoned athlete, the principles of goal setting apply universally, paving the way for progress and success. Defining the Two Pillars: Process Goals vs. Outcome Goals In the pursuit of fitness excellence, it's essential to distinguish between process goals and outcome goals. Process goals , also known as behavioral goals, revolve around the actions and behaviors you engage in during your fitness routine. They are within your control and focus on the journey rather than the destination. On the other hand, outcome goals are results-driven objectives that define the ultimate achievement you aspire to reach. For example, your outcome goal might be; "I want to run 10km", but combined with a process goal it may look something like this; "I'm going to run three times per week following my program. This will include weekly park runs to measure my 5km progress times, a speed session once per week and a 60min continuous jog aiming to go as far as possible without walking. This will get me to run 10km within 3months". We are naturally inclined to set outcome goals, but we often forget to lay down the road map to get us there! The Role of Process Goals: Building Habits and Consistency Process goals are the building blocks of success in any fitness endeavour. By emphasizing the daily actions, habits, and techniques that drive progress, process goals lay the foundation for sustainable growth.
