In the ever-evolving world of #technology, staying updated with the latest #broadband statistics is crucial. Here's a snapshot of where #America stands today in its digital journey: ✅ 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: A whopping 95% of U.S. adults now surf the web, with 90% owning a smartphone and 80% enjoying high-speed internet at home. ✅ 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞: Despite these impressive numbers, not all is equal. Income, education, and location significantly influence access to broadband. Cellular phone systems have grown to dominate the telecommunications marketplace. The United States, which has had extensive landline phone systems for a century now, has more cellphones than land lines, and the number of land lines continues to decline by 5%-7% per year. Countries that had not developed landline-based phone networks skipped them entirely and went directly to cellular wireless, where the adoption rates have been extremely high.

Industry body Mobile UK has launched a new report called How Connected Are You? Drawing on online and in person research it found we are grossly underestimating our connectivity, with 80% of those surveyed stating that they used less than ten connected devices, with 40% of those suggesting connections between just one and four devices. In reality, the average person used 14 connected devices. While knowledge of the physical nature of the infrastructure was limited there was a clear understanding that accessing a mobile signal requires mobile infrastructure nearby.
