During #AspenIdeasHealth, Dr. Kenneth L. Davis, Executive Vice Chairman of the Mount Sinai Health System Boards of Trustees, participated in a panel discussion on #healthcare consolidation, recognizing that health care systems across the country vary greatly. Some regions face monopolization by enormous health care systems, while others experience intense competition. This disparity raises important questions about health care equity and quality. #AspenIdeas #WeFindAWay

Co-design is one of these 'flavour-of-the-month' concepts. Thank you, Mary Therese. I have for long time been a strong advocate through my work and in my academia-related exercises (which includes lots of reading, too) for applying the co-design. Some observations that I would like to share (hoping to tease out some comments from you, Dear Friends and Colleagues): - too often still, the concept is used as a tick off box in various written materials that lead into nowhere or far from the co-design-in-action, - too often still, the concept, however tempting, is not included as it is perceived a rocket science - too difficult and requiring expertise-we-do-not-have, - too often, what is missing is... the group of stakeholders representative for the scope of a given project --> excluded users of future solutions-to-be-implemented-and-not-utilised-after-the-implementation. At Multicultural Aged Care we are always eager to learn. We believe in the power of networking, bringing interested parties together to meet, see and hear each other. You may consider talking to us next time you plan your co-design activity. We may advertise and facilitate together a session: to compare what we think, what we know and how much we assume. Particularly about them. 'Them' is 'us' 8-) Let's talk.
Better Together: A practical co-design workshop at WHRN2024. Thanks to Three River's Department of Rural Health and Health Consumers NSW.
