An example of the types of post–trade–show emails I've been getting this week: "Dear Colten, I wanted to personally thank you for stopping by our booth at BUILDEX last week. It was a pleasure meeting you, learning about your company, and having the opportunity to share insights about (company name redacted)." They then go on to pitch us services in no way related to our business, and demonstrate that they haven't even taken a second to look at our company to see who they're sending to. The funny thing is, I've received at least 10 generic and misguided follow-ups like this since Tuesday. If you're going to follow up with potential prospects you (presumably) met in person at an event, would you not take a half moment to send an email with some element of personalization? Maybe I'm overthinking this... Thoughts? #BuildingMaterials #ConstructionIndustry #ConstructionMarketing #Sales

I participated in a role-playing exercise yesterday for a product I'm learning to sell, a technique that top closers also employ to refine their craft. This practice helps identify weaknesses and opportunities for growth, similar to how fighters use sparring to improve.
