You have 15 minutes to teach someone about Continuous Improvement, how would you use it? I asked myself that question. Something I hadn’t given thought to, until now. Here’s how I would use those 15 minutes: 1. First 8 minutes: Teach them to recognize Waste with TIMWOODS Transportation: Moving products, information, or parts. (Sending emails with information that should be centralized, having parts at hand when you need them...) Inventory: Excess buildup of products or materials, or unnecessary information (like those saved emails you save 'just in case'). Motion: Inefficient people movements within processes. (Reaching, searching, twisting, walking...) Waiting: Delays that halt progress. (Waiting for parts, approvals etc...) Overprocessing: Doing more than necessary. (Too many reviewers, some quality checks, touching something more than once...) Overproduction: Creating more than needed. (Building inventory anywhere in the process.) Defects: Errors that require correction. (Rework of any kind, or unacceptable product or services.) Skills: Underutilized skills or lack of proper training. (Not leveraging people's talents, lack of formal documented on-boarding...) 2. Next 5 minutes: Practical Application I’d challenge them to identify one type of waste they currently experience and think of one actionable improvement they and their team can make. 3. Last 2-minutes: I'd highlight the power of incremental improvements I’d explain how small improvements, like compound interest in saving money, can have a significant impact adding up over time. I'd urge them not to wait—implement what they’ve identified immediately. Continuous Improvement is a journey, not a destination. Reflect on this: What is one area in your work that could benefit from this approach? What would you teach about CI if you only had 15 minutes? Share your thoughts in the comments, I'd love to hear them! #ContinuousImprovement #CI #Leadership #EmployeeEngagement #BusinessGrowth #TIMWOODS #CultivatingChampionsofCI

One cannot aim for #efficiency enhancement 🚀🚀, setting and achieving bigger #goals 🎯 without correcting the loop holes at the basic level. If someone claims that, it has to be strictly reassessed. If the problem is not well defined, we risk: 1. Solving the wrong problem. 2. Creating a new problem. 3. Wasting valuable resources. #problemsolving #leansixsigma #problemdefinition A problem definition should include: 1. What is occurring? 2. Where is the occurrence? 3. When did the problem start? 4.
